Taqua Built-in Filtration Sink Mixer T-3 Questions & Answers
VerifiedMPNs: TA-TAP and TAT-31) Can you please explain the differences between T-1 , T-2, and T-5 and the price differences please? 2) How do you install this? Can the customer do it them selves or do you need a plumber?
Hi P W., Thank you for your enquiry. The T-1, T-3, and T-5 models all serve the same primary function of providing filtered water at the touch of a button. The main differences between them lie in materials, design, and smaller features.
T-1: Offers an eco-shower mode to save water without compromising pressure (e.g. for washing dishes). It also uses more ABS material in its construction. T-3: Similar to the T-1 in function but with a different design aesthetic. T-5: Our flagship model, the T-5 incorporates more metal components for a premium feel and has won several design awards. The price difference between the models reflects these variations in materials, design, and features.
Installation While we are aware that some customers have installed their Taqua taps independently, it’s important to note that in Australia, regulations require the installation of plumbing fixtures by a qualified plumber. We recommend consulting with a registered plumber to ensure correct and safe installation.
Thanks again and please let us know if you have any further questions.

What's the difference between your T-3 and T-1 models?
Hi Rhonda, Thanks for getting in touch and thank you for your interest in the Taqua Built-in Filtration System! Basic functions of the T-1 and T-3 are the same (technic, filtration, pull-out hose etc.) The main differences are in design. From a technical perspective, both models are very similar, but the T-1 has a little window that tells you if the filter is activated or not and it also has a so-called “eco-shower” flow mode which is 20% less water but a stronger spray. (for example to wash dishes or spray veggies) Feel free to drop us a quick email and we can share a soft copy of our brochure with you. Or have a look at our website to find further information and images of both models. Have an amazing day!

Could you please comment on the Taqua tap's strainer and filters' pore size in microns?
Your website graph "How it works" indicates that pesticides are removed at stage 1 (strainer). How is that possible, when scientific research suggests that pesticides could only be removed via "reverse osmosis and tight nanofiltration membranes which are characterized by pore sizes close to those of pesticides (<1nm)". 1 nm = 0.001 micron.
Hi Olga, thank you for your question. Please note that the graphics used on our website are a simplified explanation of how the filter process works, not a detailed technical explanation. So in regards to your question, this might have been misleading: The idea is to show, that those substances can pass stage 1 (strainer), but the actual work is done at stage 2, the activated carbon. The process is called adsorption, and activated charcoal (activated carbon) is a universal material for such treatments. Reverse Osmosis systems work in a different way.
Can the Taqua T-3 filter be used for water from rain water tanks?
Hi Jeff, great question - and a little bit of a tricky one! We cannot make any claims on Taqua being used with rainwater tanks, simply because every setup/system and its maintenance is different and we have no control over the tanks and their maintenance. That means specific health-related contaminants, bacteria or viruses that MAY be in your water might not be filtered out using our system. We are using activated carbon in our filter and here is some information from the "Rainwater Treatment Guide" provided by NSW Health: "Activated carbon filters are most effective in removing and/or reducing chemicals such as iron and hydrogen sulphide, objectionable tastes, odours and colour, but will not remove bacteria or viruses." See here for further information: external link
That being said, we do know that we have a number of clients that are using Taqua with tank water - solely or with other filters in combination is unknown to us.
Hope that helps,
Taqua
How can the filter work when it is so small Compared to all the other brands
Hey Peter, great question! With the Taqua system, you can switch between filtered water and tap water - saving the filter cartridge for when you need it! That means you would only use filtered water when suitable (e.g. drinking, cooking, washing veggies), but switch back to tap water when cleaning, rinsing plates and such. While we do have some patented features in our filter technology (e.g. using ceramic to inhibit bacterial growth), the filter mainly consists of an activated carbon-ion exchanger a strainer and a micro-filter. chlorine & micro plastic remove
In the industry we call it "significantly reduce". A completely removal of certain substances can not be guaranteed and could also be influenced by factors that cannot be controlled by us (type of plumbing used, usage of rain water/tank and so on)
How much are the new replacement filters ?
There are a couple of different options. Full information is at Taqua.com.au I believe you can not buy a single filter, but need to sign up for regular deliveries. However, that contract can be cancelled at any time.
Absolutely correct. We currently offer 2 types of replacement filters: The Standard Filter for 44.00 AUD incl. postage and the Premium Filter for 49.50 AUD (also incl. postage).
