UNIMIG VIPER ARC 140 KUMJRVA140 Stick Welder Questions & Answers

Hello DTG, I have not used my Viper ARC 140 to weld Aluminium. A quick search reveals many references to using special Aluminium electrodes such as: external link  .. From what I have read, it is possible to stick weld Aluminium, but TIG is the preferred way, particularly on thin sections. The Viper ARC 140 does scratch start TIG. UNIMIG offer the 17V TIG torch as an accessory. I would suggest contacting UNIMIG support to obtain the best advice, I spoke to them prior to purchasing and found them to be both knowledgeable and helpful. Hope this helps. Regards, Glens

I have omly used a MIG welder for ali. so not to sure about stick as far as the tig side this machine is only dc. for ali you need a HF AC tig .
