if your pool is tiled don't bother or the radius's are too big the AX20 will not work sure about the MX8

Hi. Replaced my Mx6 that worked perfectly for a few years now . Bought ax20 . But it does not climp walls . On either setting . Replaced sand etc . Very unhappy . What can i do .

Adjust the skin trip plate at the skimmer box so that it draws more water and increases suction to suck it onto the wall

I recently installed a MX6 and it worked for a short while & then stopped. The impeller was very tight but after a bit of manipulation it seemed okay. After placing back in pool the same thing kept happening. Supplier replaced it with an AX20 (at extra cost) but I still have the same problem. What could be causing this

Hi LMD, It's hard to say exactly what the issue could be without someone coming out and assessing the situation on site to try and determine the problem. The fact that it has happened to 2 different models one after the other would indicate that it is unlikely to be a product fault, but again, it is hard to be sure without it being assessed. It could also be that these types of cleaners are not suitable for your pool needs.

I would suggest to lodge a warranty claim if you haven't already and we may be able to send a technician to you or at the very least a tune up kit that may resolve the issue.

I have just bought a new AX20 but every time I check on it, it is stuck lying on its sides. I have a smooth painted pool

Zodiac
Zodiac   DM

Hi Mandy, It is possible that there are suction or flow issues which are causing this to happen. I would suggest adjusting the flow valve to increase or decrease flow and see if there is any improvement. If issues persist please contact your local pool technician for assistance or call our customer service team on 1300 763 021(Option 3) to discuss.

Keep in mind that this cleaner is suitable for concrete, pebblecrete, quartzon, tile, fibreglass and vinyl surfaces.

Happy new year..had my ax20 for just over two years, and apart from a couple of sets of tracks and a set of scrubbers,it ran perfectly. Just out of warranty(typical),the engine and gear boxes needed replacing..was ok with that, as it’s a 10x4metre pool,so it does a lot of mileage in a day. It’s now throwing the left hand track sometimes 2 or 3 times a day, which is very frustrating. The wheels and bearings are ok. So my question is,,has anyone else had this problem, and is there a remedy. My pool man who installed the cleaner, and has done all the maintenance, says he can’t help….

Zodiac
Zodiac   DM

Hi Peter F, There are several factors that can cause the tracks to become loose. It could be due to general wear and tear, incorrect water chemistry that damages the tracks and causes them to stretch, or if the cleaner is constantly in the water, which can lead to the tracks wearing out more quickly.

Any spare parts you purchase from us - do come with a 12 month warranty, should you need to lodge a claim.

I recently purchased the ax20 and installed it in the pool , after a short while it stops working. When I pull it up I find the motor is jammed. After some manipulation I can get it going again but the same thing keeps happening. I sent it back to the retailer and they replaced the machine with a new one. I reinstalled it but I’m having the same problem.

I have a marbelite pool which of which the surface is not as smooth as fiberglass. My question is won’t the AX2- wear more because of the rougher surface?

Hi Deon, Yes potentially it could wear more because of the rougher surface. This cleaner is most suitable for concrete, pebblecrete, quartzon, tile, fibreglass, vinyl surfaces. I would suggest speaking with your local pool specialists to figure out which cleaner would be most suitable for your pool.

Hi, does it manage to get up tiled stairs?

Marie Heath
Marie Heath

Mine has climbed up a couple of steps , but NOT a regular occurrence . So I have to say no . It climbs the walls no problems getting over the 4 inch lip around my fibreglass pool and reaches the waterline tiles to clean them . It’s a very smooth cleaner because it doesn’t get stuck in areas .

Zodiac
Zodiac   DM

Hi Krash, Although this cleaner is suitable for tiled pools and both floor and walls, they are not designed to clean stairs specifically. What we would suggest is to brush the stairs before AX20 starts cleaning so that all that debris is collected.

I hope this helps.

Thanks. Does it enable leaves to be collected in the slimmer basket like a Kreepy Krauly? Also is it recommended for saltwater in ground cement pools?

I am looking at replacing my MX8 with the Nee AX20. I see quite a few advertised without hoses. Do they both use the same hoses and connectors?

Not sure why it doesn’t climb the walls - what type of pool do you have? Fibreglass, tiled, above ground vinyl??

Marie Heath
Marie Heath

Hello Bertrand and 4489kellie , I have a Fibreglass pool with 150mm tiles at the top area on the Fibreglass , my Zodiac climbs the wall easily and reaches to that area also . . You might have to check with company to see why it won’t climb , maybe it’s not weighted properly ? Check the instructions again on assembling the machine . It may also be your pump not strong enough ? Clean your pump out in case there is a blockage or build up in your pool filter system . I can only tell you that my Zodiac AX20 is the best pool Cleaner I have ever bought , all the others I have had in the past did not work properly . Hope this helps but see your pool man as he may have the answers to why you are not happy .

I bought my AX20 pool cleaner in January this year with a 2 year warranty. One wheel stopped working and the seller says it's ordinary wear and tear of the gear which is not covered by the warranty. How is that if the product is within the warranty period?

My new fibreglass pool does not have very large round corners at the bottom, i would like to know if the AX 20 will be able to climb the side walls of my pool.

I have recently thrown out a kreepy krauly Marathon suction cleaner it worked well for a number of years but in the end it just wore out. Cracks and splits etc. I keep looking at the MX8 but some of the reveiws have me concerned. My pool is in a gum leaf area and i leave the cleaner in so when the filter is on so is the cleaning. Would the MX8 be my replacement or the AX20

What is the differences between the AX20 and the AX10 ?

Soleit
Soleit

Price wise it’s cheaper but the AX10 tends to wear out pretty fast and its not the best wall climber out there. The AX20 is the best suction cleaner I’ve had and that’s after using a few Kreepy Krauly cleaners (more than my wife appreciates lol) and diaphragm style like the Onga hammerhead. It doesn’t get stuck, does the whole pool in a pump cycle and we couldn’t be any happier.

We have an old creepy-crawly which does not cover all of our irregularly-shaped concrete pool, but tends to follow a fairly constant path around the sides. How does the Zodiac MX6 navigate? How does its 'X-Drive' work?

Does this AX20 good with leaves?

Soleit

Very good. Leaves, small sticks/twigs, sand, no problems. Had ours for about 3 months now and it’s the best suction cleaner we’ve had

I had the MX 8, it started giving problems, I bought a AX20, WOW WOW WOW, UNBELIEVABLE this is by far the best technology, and far exceeds the capabilities of the MX 8.
