Zodiac G3 Questions & Answers
VerifiedI'm looking at replacing my G2 with a G3 cleaner. I only need the head because the hoses etc on the current unit are only a season hold and still fine. Does the G3 connect using the same G2 locking hoses. Looking at some photos suggests it has a different style. They are too expensive just to throw away
Hi Zodiac team, can you confirm if the G3 pool cleaner will not get stuck and clean the small safety ledge around my pool and the pool stairs?
Hi Todd, Climbing may be limited in pools with safety ledges. Increasing the flow on the G3 cleaner and correct hose weight positioning can help alleviate these issues but difficult terrain such as safely ledges can prove to be difficult

Is the zodiac G 3 suitable for vinyl lined pool
We have recently bought a G3 pool cleaner only to discover that the hose we inherited from the previous pool owners is not the right thing. What sort of hose do we need to buy?
Hi, is the G3 the same as the Manta, or not? Also, has the G3 now been superseded by another zodiac model? Thanks.
If I buy a Zodiac Baracude G4 head only and a Zodiac leaf catcher, can I use the hoses off my old pool cleaner as they are in good condition? Do I need any special connector to fit the old push on type pool hose the the cleaner and the leaf catcher?
probably not - you can ask whoever is selling it but they may not know either. get whatever response in writing. the adapters are hit and miss if they fit - 2 types and are a poor solution in multiples. zodiac just screwed everyone over with an old push hose, making replacement a nightmare. Money grabbing disrespectful unpleasant company to deal with. the leaf catcher used to come with adapters for the push on hose what they are now is anyone's guess. Sorry i can't be more positive. the hoses don't all go at once but fitting the new ones with the old ones is reliant on working adapters and the new ones are even a different color!
Many thanks
Pls we live in Morayfield and would like to purchase a Baracuda G3, where would be our closest shop to buy one. Also good price. Thanks Wynne
Hi Wynn, Pool and spa direct on the Gold Coast sell the G3. Not sure who else. They do free shipping to Brisbane. Hope it helps!
Dear all, how to test and adjust the pump pressure?

It's the Zodiac G3 and Baracuda Manta the same product?
From the pictures, I would think they are the same. I am about to throw my zodiac G3 in the bin after 7 months. This is because I am forced to buy the genuine hoses with the locking tabs at $20 each. After 7 months, 15 of the hoses have split. Zodiac apparently will only replace the hoses once. So in 7 months time, according to Zodiac, I will have to spend another $300 on hoses.
I am going to buy a wheeled cleaner, anything but Zodiac.
I thought as much. Thanks for the reply. Better luck with your new toy.
May be the Zodiac Official could answer your question but I don’t think a Zodiac Offical will. My obersations lead me to think they are exactly the same but marketed differently to retailers like Bunnings Warehouse. Most parts fit both the G3 and the Mantra (II).
They might look the same but they not!! I had thought that they were the same so I bought a Manta from Bunnings first instead of a G3 as they were cheaper but it stopped working after 3 weeks. I had checked the diaphragm and my suction was fine. There was no body at Bunnings that could help me except for offering me a replacement one. I wasn't impressed with the product and got a refund. I called around some retail and online shops looking to replace my Zodiac G2 with the same unit. After talking to a few Retailers who assured me the G3 was the better than the G2 I purchased one. On receiving the cleaner i could tell there was definitely a difference in build quality and materials. Even the hoses seemed better quality. Anyway I have had the Zodiac G3 for around 4 weeks now and it is going great. It even climbs the walls and covers the pool far better than the Manta. It is worth paying a bit extra to get the G3 if you want a pool cleaner that works.
Where can I buy a G3 in Australia that ships to Perth, Western Australia?
You can have mine for $100. Only 7 months old.
I'll buy it, im in Brisbane area

RUN. Run now, and don’t look back.
I have been trawling through endless pool cleaner reviews and this one appears to be the best one ever made. However, from what I can see, Zodiac have discontinued this model and replaced it with one that gets nothing but bad reviews, possibly the worst one ever made. Am I to assume that the G3 was a little bit too good and never needed replacing or is there a worthy replacement out there somewhere?
My G3 has become worn out and the housing has self destructed after 2 years and 5 months. I am about to go into battle with Zodiac.
Just be aware that there is a proprietary hose connector that is very expensive to get replacements for. The hoses also seem to fail very often - we brought a brand new unit that has been in use 2 weeks and the first split in the hose has appeared....
