Air Fryers · See All

Air Fryers first exploded into the mainstream over Christmas in 2016, and have only become more popular each year. Many have evolved into multi-function appliances that do more than air fry. The Miracle Chef Air Fryer Oven Deluxe is a 7-in-1 multi cooker that lists roasting and dehydrating among its talents. It’s great for cooking feasts, with its huge 10L capacity, 3 food racks and 5.7-litre fry basket. Home chefs appreciated their new Miracle Chef the most for its sturdy build quality, and for being easy to clean and maintain.

If you’d prefer a more traditional air fryer without all the bells and whistles, you can check out other highly rated, affordable air fryers.

Blenders · See All

There are no mixed feelings about it - this years awards in the Blenders category go equally to the Magimix Power Blender and the Sunbeam ActiveSense PBT7000SS.

Both blenders are both fairly new on the market, and share a $399 price tag in common. Both deliver the raw power promised by high-speed blenders. The Magimix is a favourite for blending hard vegetables, while the ActiveSense is a top pick for smoothie enthusiasts. The Sunbeam ActiveSense has a slightly larger 2-litre jug, and comes with a smaller bottle you can take on-the-go. The Magimix Power Blender offers superior manual control with 8 speeds, while the ActiveSense is a hit with home chefs who like to set-and-forget their blender. You can walk away from the blender and it will adjust its settings according to what your meal or drink needs.

The Magimix Power Blender can currently be found on sale for $337, while the Sunbeam ActiveSense can be bought for $269.

Benchtop Food Mixers · See All

The benchtop is a specialised and bulky piece of kitchen equipment that’s quite an investment. To avoid picking up a lemon, our reviewers recommend the KitchenAid Artisan KSM160. KitchenAid stand mixers are often found in the kitchen of the serious home chef. Their 5-time Award-winner status on ProductReview shows that this pride of place is well deserved.

The KitchenAid KSM160 is part of a broader family of stand mixers, but it was this particular model that carried the brand over the finish line this year.

The KitchenAid KSM 160 Artisan mixer has planetary mixing action to make sure no bit of batter gets left behind, and a tilt-head feature for easy taste-testing. You get 4 included mixing attachments, and 2 bowl sizers. Reviewers love that their mixer is easy to use and maintain.

The KSM 160 Artisan Mixer is usually $949, but is currently on sale for $849.

Breadmakers · See All

The Panasonic SD-2501 Bread Maker is no stranger to the spotlight - it’s been chosen as the best bread maker 6 years in a row. The Panasonic SD-2501 Bread Maker knows what you knead when it comes to making homemade loaves.

Although it can take a bit of getting used to (as some reviewers found out), the results seem to be worth the effort. Reviewers also used it to make pizza dough, Italian loaves, French bread/brioche, and multigrain bread. Overall the Panasonic SD-2501 was described as a dependable, solid bread maker that produces excellent edible results.

Juicers · See All

Both winning juicers this year are cold press juicers, which are healthy heros for those who loved their homemade juice. While they’re a bit pricier than other juicers, reviewers didn't mind, as they loved sprucing up juices that were delicious and nutrient-dense.

Aussie outfit Mod pick up another ProductReview Award for their Cold Press Juicer in 2022. Despite the $499 price tag, reviewers raved about its ability to handle greens and hard vegetables like carrot, beetroot or celery. The $429 Torus Echo uses dual augers to double squeeze fruits and veggies, producing a high juice yield. Unlike some other high-end juicers, both these cold press juicers are reported to be quiet and easy to use and clean, too.

Food Processors · See All

Magimix earn their third award in the Kitchen Appliances category this year with their outstanding food processor. The saying ‘bigger is better’ isn’t always true, but in the case of the Magimix XL Range, the adage seems to have weight.

This range offers premium, generously sized food processors that are sure to tick the boxes of avid home chefs who frequently cook for 4 or more people. The food processor comes with either 6, 7 or 9 food prep functions, an auto-processing function and 3 bowls. This premium processor has functions that you’d expect, like chopping, grating and slicing, as well as ones that you wouldn’t, like juicing.

Multi-Cookers, Pressure Cookers, and Slow Cookers · See All

These one-pot, do-it-all appliances are an Aussie staple, and more people are starting to use them year-round instead of only breaking them out in winter. While there is a fair amount of cross-over between these categories, this year the #1 cooker in all three was the Philips Original All-In-One Multi-Cooker HD2237/72, even beating out dedicated slow cookers and pressure cookers at their own game.

This gold winner cooker promises versatility, and follows through with its quality cooking performance. It makes quick and delicious home cooked meals thanks to 7 pressure cooking settings. The pressure cooking function was the most popular amongst reviewers. The slow cooking function of up to 12 hours was also a hit with reviewers who had the luxury of time.
