Best paint – I have painted cars, trucks, trailers, bikes and random items with killrust. It takes a while to dry but the results are amazing. Cars I painted 10… Read more

years ago still shine. I love that I don't need to undercoat / prime unless it's bear metal. This stuff sticks to everything and anything for years.

I used Solargard to spraypaint my shed using a Wagner 250M spraygun. I bought 15L of Solargard Monument colour from the local Bunnings. I mixed it… Read more

with a large commercial mixer attached to a power drill and noticed large amounts of skin on the mixer when I raised it - so I extended the mixing time for a few minutes hoping it was just settled pain in the bottom of the large drum. I then removed the "skin" when I removed the mixer. When i then started the spraygun its nozzle blocked evry 20-30secs - fortunately the Wagner has a quick clear mechanism. There is also a pickup screen, and a fine filter in the gun so the paint must have lots of very small "skin" particles. I persisted and actually bought a second drum which also had the same issue. Wattyl Solargard said its rare (of course) but would not offer any partial refund or credit (total cost for paint was $540). Quality is obviously poor - I've never struck skin in the bottom of new paint before.

I'll never use Solargard again - its back to the Dulux brands.

Avoid the problem.

Mould Grew within a month – Not mould resistant at all. Mould Grew within a month, and after 4 months the coat was gone in traffic areas. Rubbish, I will never use water-based again.

Fool proof interior timber stain – Water based Wattyl Wood Gel is the best (easiest to use) timber stain I have ever used. It is applied to the timber with a rag and you just rub in… Read more

enough coats (allowing to dry in between) to get the depth of colour you want. It can then be finished with a coat or two of polyurethane, or you can use Wattyl Scandinavian Teak Oil if you want a less shiny finish and/or are trying to preserve the patina on an older (repaired) timber piece. As an amateur woodworker I need all the help I can get and this product is fool proof. Comes in 200 ml tubes but you will have to go to a paint specialist because neither Bunnings nor Masters stock it. Water base means that it's easy clean-up too!

This has to be the worst paint ever – I have been a painter for 10 years and can honestly say this is the worst paint I have ever used by a country mile would not recommend using this paint will eat your profits and is near impossible to get to dry evenly.

the imperfections. I recall Solver being the best but found it unavailable. Wattyl and Solver being the same, I decided to try the Wattyl brand, hoping it WAS the same as Solver , To my surprise I can report it IS very much the same, with its brilliant flat finish and camouflages many imperfections , I will use this without a doubt in the future.
