mobility issues it has been liberating to have something that I can easily use, empty and clean.

The vacuum works well on carpet and tiles. The battery lasts around 40 minu, enough for the whole 4 bedroom house on min setting. It runs for 15min on max setting when deep cleaning is required. It takes about 3 hours to fully charge from flat and the range of attachments are very useful and easy to swap.

Emptying the barrel is easy. You detach from the stick portion, hold the base of the dust holding cannister over the bin and pull up the red part that has the dust bin icon (see photo below). To remove fine dust - push down and pull up the release lever several times and this is enough to remove most of what has been collected by this amazingly well designed stick vacuum.

The head of the long vacuum is really versatile and multi directional. It fits sideways into spaces I have not been able to vacuum in the past. It's ability to go horizontal means you can get under low spaces like beds with ease.

This product is made to last 2 years and it is not worth the money to spend. The service person was helpful but the product is not worth $900 +

Naturally, after years of regular use, the battery has degraded and now completely dead. That is understandable for a consumable part. What is completely unacceptable, however, is Dyson’s after-sales support.

When I reached out to customer service to purchase a replacement battery, they refused to offer any goodwill discount for a loyal customer. To make matters worse, genuine replacement batteries on their official Australian website are permanently out of stock!

Instead of providing a viable repair solution to keep a perfectly functional vacuum working, their customer support tried to push me into buying a brand-new machine with a pathetic "10% off on machines over $649 AUD.

This is a textbook example of poor sustainability and planned obsolescence. Dyson refuses to supply basic spare parts for aging machines, effectively turning an expensive appliance into landfill unless you spend hundreds more on a new unit.

If you expect long-term parts availability and genuine customer care after spending top dollar, look elsewhere. Very disappointed with Dyson Australia.

ever occurred in my home. The G5 is the third Dyson vacuum cleaner I’ve bought, and it’s the best cordless vacuum I’ve ever used. I only use the automatic suction setting, but no dust escapes it; when used on carpets with the appropriate brush head, the results are on a par with my corded Miller vacuum cleaner. The green LED is bright enough to reveal every imperfection on the floor in crystal-clear detail – though it’s perhaps a bit too much for those with OCD, as it forces them to clean everything spotless, LOL. I also use it to tackle dust in the car; unlike some cordless hoovers, the G5 remains powerful even on attachments without a front-mounted motor, and has no trouble clearing large and small pebbles from under the seats. The G5’s battery life is also quite sufficient; it’s more than enough to clean a 422 house. Unless your home is a proper rubbish tip, how on earth would you run out of power? The only drawback I can think of is that when emptying the dustbin, the action—which resembles cocking a shotgun—causes a lot of dust to fly up. Even when emptying it into a large bin, you can see countless dust particles swirling in the light. Fortunately, this happens outdoors, but Dyson surely could come up with a more elegant solution.

prone to leaking if not connected perfectly, and is impractical for cleaning larger areas. In practice, it appears to spread water across hard floors rather than effectively cleaning them. Given the price of the product, the mop function does not meet reasonable expectations and I would not recommend spending the additional money on it. When I contacted Dyson, customer service repeatedly stated that the product works well instead of addressing the concerns raised, which was frustrating and unhelpful. Overall, this experience has been disappointing and has made me reconsider purchasing products from this company in the future.

After weeks of going nowhere with Dyson Customer Resolutions, a retailer resolved the issue within hours, with no downtime.

My advice: Don’t buy directly from Dyson. Buy through a reputable retailer that will actually help when something goes wrong.

Found what appears to be a cockroach/insect crushed and sealed inside the filter of my Dyson vacuum.

Dyson initially agreed to replace the filter, then told me it was out of stock for around six weeks. Their solution was to replace the entire vacuum — but only after I send mine back first, leaving me without a vacuum while I wait.

I offered several practical alternatives, including a simultaneous exchange. No flexibility.

For a premium-priced product, finding this inside the filter was bad enough. The way the issue has been handled has made the experience considerably worse.
