I have have 2 V10 Dyson vacuum cleaners, both have had the trigger guards break off. I have fairly large fingers, consequently, when the vacuum cleaner is being held, pressure is put on the trigger guard. The trigger guard needs to be thicker. Show details

Not satisfied – Our family were big fans of Dyson. But this one really let us down. The major problem is it doesn't pick up everything (I have changed several heads,… Read more

and it's too inefficient to rely on the smallest head to pick up the small dirt). I feel the suction power is too weak.

The Dyson Gen5detect is hands down the best vacuum I’ve ever owned. I’ve been using Dyson vacuums for more than 30 years — two corded models and… Read more

one cordless — and this is my fourth Dyson overall. It’s by far the most impressive.

The Gen5detect is incredibly easy to use and has huge power. Our home is large, with carpet upstairs and hard floors downstairs, and it handles the entire place on a single charge without any trouble.

I initially thought the particle‑counting feature was a bit over-the-top and nerdy, but I’ve grown to love it. On the first run it detected over a billion particles; now the count is down to around 64 million or less, which is oddly satisfying to watch.

The auto‑suction adjustment is brilliant. It responds instantly to the floor surface and the amount of dust, and when it hits a patch that needs extra power, it ramps up and pulls everything out. A great example: we have a long‑haired cat who loves rolling on the mat under the table, leaving hair embedded in the fibres. After vacuuming with the Gen5detect, 100% of it is gone. I even went over the area with a brush to check — absolutely nothing left.

It’s also noticeably quieter — at least 75% quieter than our old corded Dyson.

Yes, it’s an expensive vacuum, but it’s absolutely worth it.

prone to leaking if not connected perfectly, and is impractical for cleaning larger areas. In practice, it appears to spread water across hard floors rather than effectively cleaning them. Given the price of the product, the mop function does not meet reasonable expectations and I would not recommend spending the additional money on it. When I contacted Dyson, customer service repeatedly stated that the product works well instead of addressing the concerns raised, which was frustrating and unhelpful. Overall, this experience has been disappointing and has made me reconsider purchasing products from this company in the future.

I have been sitting here having breakfast and a coffee (which is now cold) and for the last hour & a half and the robot has been trying to return to… Read more

the dock. More often than not, either my wife or myself have to replace the robot on the dock ourselves. We had the same issue with our first vacuum which we took back to The Good Guys and which Dyson replaced with a new robot vacuum cleaner. No return information. Just a new vacuum. This one, the second, is no better than the first one. I have remapped the areas we want vacuumed. I have named zones. I have created areas to avoid due to multiple chair legs etc., like around our breakfast bar area. The dock has the correct clear distance around it. The vaccum cleaner is still driving into the dock at the wrong angles or beside it, then reversing and looking like it is lined up only to stop just before it drives onto the dock, turns to the left or right and drives off again. It has now driven itself to a couple metres away from the dock. I paid a lot of money for this through The Good Guys, but any claim like repair etc., has to be taken up with Dyson directly. To be honest, I would just like to get my money back. I bought this robot thinking that it might be a better deal than a lot of the other robots that have a mopping function, which I am dubious about, and having a full width cleaning roller as the Dyson rep was keen to point out. All the selling points make sense. I just wish the rep had said that the vacuum was quite dodgy at returning to its dock. THA would have been helpful. I notice that The Good Guys are advertising the 360 for $944 now. That is a lot less than I pad for it and with what I know now about this robot, it is still too expensive. And for the whole time I have been writing this review, the robot is STILL trying to find the dock. I thin it has spent more time trying to return to the dock than it has actually vacuuming this morning. And now after 2 1/2 hours of trying to return to its dock, I have to pick it up and place it on the dock. Sorry, but Dyson have a lot of work that needs to be done to make this a worthwhile purchase.

vacuuming dirt, dog hair, etc (the v8 Absolute is still going strong in my garage) but this new V16 Piston Animal's performance doesn't stack up at all to my previous Dysons. I have to go over the floors 2 or 3 times to achieve a standard the previous Dysons. Really disappointed.

Rang Dyson service to see if I was using it wrong or if I could return it - though the service lady was very nice, she pretty much said bad luck as I was out of the 30 days return window. I'll be taking the complaint further.

Extremely disappointed in product and service as Dyson has (had) a good name. Definitely not up to the Dyson standard.

Cannot recommend the v16 Piston Animal.
