I have a 909 18" mower. The rear grass flap keeps falling off. I dont think it is the spring needing to be replaced.... is there meant to be rivits (pin/rod retainer) at either end to keep in place?

Where can i buy a charger as our got lost

One of the small rods (probably connecting something and the governer) to accelerate the engine is broken and missing, so I have no idea what it looks like to replace it. Moving the lever on the handle will only pull the choke or stop the engine but not accelerate. By the way I had it for quite a while and it worked well and I love the keystart. If I could find a diagram showing the rod connecting the governor (If it does) or showing all the rods beside the carburetor that would help me

Vinco, I apologise, I can't answer your question. My mower died after only two years. Like you I loved the key start but it became very hard to push and was going through so much oil we took it to the local tip.

Hi, can I order a complete set of blades with nuts and plates for this machine? Thank you

I have no idea. Possibly find a mower wrecker who might have had one this model laying around. They were distributed by Masters Hardware stores and designed to be thrown away once it began to break down. Mine has suddenly refused to run and I suspect the head may be cracked, as petrol seems to be leaking out of all areas. Once Masters shut up shop, any 909 branded item became an anchor as parts seemed to vanish.

I'm not sure what you need here. Your question is more of a short statement. Can you ask me a question?

Is it possible to get parts for this mower? Am needing a new catcher, cover for the filter and blades. Thank you

I have hunted for parts since I got this mower, but have not found anyone who deals in them. Your best bet is to purchase a second hand 909 and use that for parts. You may even be able to sell some parts to help recoup your costs.

I have had this mower for more than 3 years and has been good up until now. The battery won't recharge, the pull cord has long ago been chewed up as it didn't retract, so have no way of starting the mower and Masters have gone out of business. Does anyone have any suggestions or should I chuck it and buy a new mower?

pisstoff

Have you tried jump starting the battery? You can use a car battery because the mower will only use the amount of power it needs. Just make sure you hook up the positives together and the negatives together.

where can I buy a new battery

I had a look at some batteries in Bunnings today. You need to get a 12Volt 6 AH battery from them. They cost about $70. Take your old battery with you to compare the size. They are also sold by Jaycar.

What sort of engine does the Key Start Petrol 909 Lawn Mower from Masters have? Is it 'Briggs & Stratton' engine?

pisstoff
pisstoff

No. It uses an engine designed by 909. If it was Briggs and Stratton, it would cost a lot more.

I need a new catcher for my 909 ES99 - any ideas where I can get one?

Try this one. external link

Otherwise you might need to advertise for one on Gumtree.

There doesn't seem to be a service agent for this company, in Australia.

Where can I buy a key start switch?

pisstoff

I have tried everywhere when Masters were still there. But I always got the same answer, there were no spare parts available.

In the end, I simply chopped the key start module off and hot wired the mower.

Does anyone know where I could get a power adapter for tdd the battery?

pisstoff
pisstoff

Can you give more detail please?

What is tdd and what sort of adaptor do you need? As in, is it a power plug, or maybe a foreign socket or are you simply looking for an actual charger?

I have a 909 99cc...I'm not able to start it anymore...I have filled oil and petrol and checked filter all seems ok...it starts for lilke 5seconds and stops...please help..

pisstoff
pisstoff

The 99cc doesn't have a choke, so it won't burn fuel till it's warm. If you look at the left side of the motor, you will a vertical piece of metal with a spring attached to it. Grab a lacky band and attach one end to the top of the vertical piece of metal. Stretch the other end and hook it to the air filter casing. You have now created a choke. Pull the starter cord or turn the engine over with the key start. The engine will start to run roughly, because the choke makes it run a bit rich. Adjust the vertical metal part and you will hear the engine tone change. You need to be very careful with the adjustment as too far to the right will starve the engine and too much choke will flood the engine.

how do you charge the battery with charger supplied couldnt find where to plug it in?

pisstoff
pisstoff

You have to disconnect the battery on the mower.

If you look closely, you will see a plu/socket near the battery housing.
