Can the battery be repaired ?

No and yes , anything can be repaired for a cost , but for a person on the street no . I’m not aware of a cost effective way to repair these batteries Perhaps if you cut it open and have the knowledge to replace the cells with generic batteries but usually they fail within 6 months from experience.

I was about to set out buying AEG battery system and building up the gamut of tools but after reading all these reviews I will not go ahead. How disappointing. Is AEG planning on addressing these issues raised and improving their batteries and tool Design or simply hoping that more poor unsuspecting customers will simply blindly purchase their unreliable products?

I spent a lot of money on a complete set of aeg products at bunnings, first the chuck broke in the hammer drill, then the charger stopped working, and after 6 months the second charger broke, then the battreries showed the broken symbol ,upgraded the battreies, same result, also the AEG radio was gone after 1 year, all for light home work, im not a builder.

Just going back to the dropsaw. I was using it today when I felt some vibration so I check the blade all was good plus I just put a new one on. Tried again and it ground to a stop. After pulling it apart I found the dust fan in the turbo unit had disintegrated. This just gets better and better. I won't be buying AEG again itsjust Chinese crap.

Have 2 54 volt batteries. Both Stopped charging exactly after 3 years. Some research indicated that they are programmed to die after 3 years so people buy new ones. Sounds about right. Considering they are 300$ each …. Anyway. Is there a way to repair them?
