Hi guys just wanting to ask. I have a BMW X5 2014 model and I am wanting to buy a DPF from a 2017 BMW X5 Model - Will this fit into my 2014 BMW?

Looking at buying a BMW X5 3.0d e70 3ltr turbo diesel 2011 at 118000kms. Anything that I should be aware of before purchasing this vehicle as I will Looking at vehicle this Wednesday 25th January. Never had a BMW so not sure what to expect. Is servicing very expensive and at this mileage and year is their anything that may start the breakdown that could be costly. Regards Craig

How far can one liter of petrol travel?

I have a 2009 3.0 D M sport I was driving along & the car stopped & would not start but only turned over a couple of times & battery was flat so the first thing I did was replace battery ! Now it will start & run for a second or 2 then stop & will not start until I take key out and reinsert & then it’s the same again starts then stops !!! On a couple of occasions it has run for 3-4 minutes but then stops as usual

hi guys i have a 2007 bmw 3.0 sd I recently bought it I picked it up on a trailer disengaged the handbrake and transmission from the console where the cup holders are when I got it home I started it and ran good the next day started it tried to put it in gear and it stalled wont go into R N or D start it runs for second and then dies but first thing in morning it runs for 5 minutes when i scan it it comes up with a million codes WOW it says 4x4 steering under voltage dde abs cas module injector 5 any ideas when i pulled the ecu off the plugs i see corrosion in the plastic plugs any idea the best way to rid the corrosion and treat it

I recently got my hands on a 2005 BMW X5 E53 Automatic All-Wheel drive (3.0L) and would love to take it off-road. So I'm putting it out there to those who have the same car and have tested it off-road. Is it okay to take off-road? and to what extent? (as I plan to beach drive with it - if it is safe to do so)

I am a car idiot. I have a X5 2006. What happens when I nudge the gear lever to the left and go into the manual mode? Is this a 4WD situation or what? Answer in simple terms please. Robert

Hi I have a 2008 BMWX5 twin turbo I am assuming that my seals in the turbo failed possibly due to a blocked dpf

This caused a diesel runaway situation fueled by the turbo oil

The motor Revesby up to 5500 rpm and ran for a minute then slowed down and shut down

Is my engine damaged How do I check if the engine is damaged Would the blocked dpf cause enough pressure on the turbo seals to make them fail Should I try to start the motor after some basic check on the condition of the motor ( I will have a system in place to cut of the air supply if needed ) and a CO2 bottle ready for the air intake just in case

Any other advice, some help would be graciously appreciated.

Hi all, Have X5 E70 3.0 D and I got the car serviced ,just normal routine service from a local garage where he changed the oil,oil filter,diesal filter and Air filter but later when I collected the car and driving all of a sudden the car gets to N position and the engine gets cut off.no fault codes or engine check lights appears.i switch off totally and start again drive for a few Kilometers and the same problem appears on a distance of about 12 km the engine switched off almost 10 times. Can anyone on this forum please helpe out on the possible fault?

Trans failsafe prog comes up on dash and is stuck in 2 nd gear but drive off slowly and get it warmed up for about a 10min drive and then I pull over turn it off and then turn it back on and trans failsafe prog is off and shifts through all the gears from 1st and up no worries and drives fine but then once cooled down it does it again...what could it be

Hi I have an BMW X5 e70 diesel turbo. It has done 200,000klm I’ve had to get the dpf taken out and cleaned, the egr cleaned and coils replaced as well as fuel filter replaced. I recently ran low on diesel and since then it seems to some times not accelerate on take off and will chug a little while driving. Engine light keeps coming on a week after faults are cleared. Any suggestions other than the odious of not to run a diesel low on fuel ?
