I've tried soaking the filter, but I am still unable to use the Fill and Go. What is the fault?

You need to sort of bite and pull the mouthpiece while sucking. It takes practice but works eventually!

I always squeeze the bottle as well when I drink and that works a treat.

Thank you. It worked well. Perhaps this is something that should be on the instruction sheet.

Just soak the charcoal filter in water first and then it is good to use.

I have a fill and go and the longer I'm using it there is a build up of black around the drinking spout, I regularly wash and change the filter as required but is harder to get the black off, is this normal and will it be harmful? I don't mind the sucking apart from when I need to take a tablet

The black stuff is probably from the charcoal filter. Charcoal is actually not harmful to you. I would contact the manufacturer. I have had one for a year or so and don't have this problem

You can purchase a replacement filter with a new drinking spout. That's what I did. I usually destroyed the mouthpieces of mine by dropping the bottle. Those replacement pieces saved me!

Does anyone know if this bottle and filter would be sufficient for travelling in India? I.e. filtering water straight from the tap??? Thanks

I used this for my trip in the Philippines and none of my family got sick. Hope this helps.

We are heading to Thailand and were wondering about how much cleaner this would make the water.

I have seen the filter take out the cordial in the water that was accidentally filled in the bottle - so they're good to a degree. I assume that Thailand is not a clean place for water out of a tap like the standards in Australia, as my partner went there and they drank nothing but bottled water the whole time. I would take a filter or two spare for their tap water, it couldn't hurt at all to be a little cautious! There are pocket silver impregnated ceramic filters that are suitable for filtering dirty water if that's what your worried about. I recommend them if your camping and drinking from a creek or a dirty supply.
