Water tank broken

Hi you don't need the one that comes with the machine, you can get one in the Map Clean Bean Cleaning System from Woolies ($7) with descaler tablets. Makes a massive difference doing a full descale (procedure in back of the manual for when the machine goes into forced cleaning mode)

I doubt you can fix this machine but try going to Woolworths (resellers) for assist from manufacturer. Also do not use HOT water in the water tank as it is not made to handle the heat. My own machine cracked the water container and water went everywhere.

Woolworths don't sell them anymore - you have to go direct to Grinders Coffee... their customer support is terrible, but you have to persevere - they're a bargain for the quality of coffee they produce, but it's your money and they should have at least a 2-year life making 3-4 coffees a day 'every day'... my last one - the red one - lasted 3 years... I now have this black one - from Bing Lee - and it was faulty to start with and then suddenly 5 days trying it again, etc it worked... Grinders Coffee 'customer support' was awful, but they are the distributors - you don't deal with the retailer unless you can get to a store...

I am almost sure you are using the Nespresso capsules. They are small in size than the Caffitaly and do fall straight down.

Ok thankyou, I think you are right, I need bigger capsules. Can you still get them for that machine?

Hey there, they have to be "caffitaly system" pods (they'll have that logo on them) but you can find lots of coffee varieties. Grinders have a big selection online, you will find MAP, St Remio in Coles, Giancarlo and perfetto. I buy them in bulk at Costco.

Hold the button down until the desired level is made.

Hi Marie, When our machine was new and we were setting up, the water dispensed could be fixed by holding the button (the middle one for us) down til there was enough water for our liking. Thereafter, when we pressed the button once, it would dispense that amount. And it has done ever since. I am sure you can reset the amount at any time just by holding the button down until it's enough. Good luck. Beth

Okay, I posted this above but it got removed for being an answer not a question, so here it is as an answer instead: -- The replacement rinse capsules at external link  are long since out of stock. But you can easily make your own from a used capsule. I just used a Woolies one.

Do it with a used one so it's already punctured.

1. Slice open the plastic wrap top with a sharp knife

2. Peel off any remaining plastic wrap

3. Lever out the plastic top with a flathead screwdriver or normal cutlery knife.

4. Empty out the coffee grinds.

5. Lever out the plastic bottom.

6. Rinse everything out to get rid of any coffee grinds

7. Reassemble by pushing first the bottom part then the top part into place. For the top part, make sure the indentation is facing into the pod.

And that's it. Works fine for rinsing, hot water dispensing, descaling, whatever.

I don't understand 7th step. Can you send a pic?

Where are you, I just had my machine die and have replaced it but still have all the extras. If you are not too far away, I can post the capsule.

Thanks Beth I ended up getting rid of the machine as I realise I am adding to the plastic burden . Good old cafetiere for me again xx ronnie

That actually works for cleaning the system. But, I recommend to using ‘Coffee Machine Descaler‘ to clean the coffee machine:)
