Dimplex 1.5kW Mini Cube Questions & Answers
VerifiedWhat is the energy rating for the a Dimplex Mini Cube? Mine has a fan which was not part of the information given on line for the product.
No sure but it sure whacked up the power bill way too high. They are fine in very small rooms with low ceiling.
Hi Maureen, Thank you for your question, Currently there is no minimum energy performance standards (MEPS) requirement on electric heaters so we do not have a rating we can provide you with. Thanks
Hi Paully, You may need to refer to your bill to check the kilowatt per hour charge and work out a cost of running. Thanks
So I can work out consumption, do I take it the Mini Cube actually operates as a fan heater? Maureen Y
Hi Maureeen, Yes it does. You may need to refer to your bill work out a cost of running. Thanks
Our mini cube suddenly developed a burning smell. I am scared to use it now. Is that normal?
I would presume if u haven’t used for a while could be burning dust I’ll leave it outside on for a while and observe
We actually used it hours and days prior, it’s in constant use as it was only 2 degrees last night here. We are trying it this morning without the fan.....but there is no heat coming out at all now..? Must be the fan?
Turns out it depends on how we store it when it’s not in use....if we lay it the wrong way up then dust gets on the fan/element......it does burn away, then it works fine again....phew!
Hi Janene, Thank you for your question, I'm glad to hear you got your answer. Thanks
How do you change the light globe in this heater?? It was given to me and I don’t have the instructions.
I know it was easy but I didnt do it try googling
Hello Mel W After unplugging the unit from the power, you should be able to access the rear of the unit and take the globe out. Take the globe to a lighting specialist store, they should be able to match the globe for you. If this mini cube is a current model, it has LED lighting, this cannot be replaced.
does it get hot on the outside? is it child safe?
Hello Claire Given that the unit is designed to generate heat, the surface of the unit will also heat up. All our heaters are designed and manufactured to Australian safety standards. It is always prudent to advise that children etc be kept away from surfaces from which the heat is radiated.
I disagree, the unit walls do not get hot at all. The top stays cool. The only hot part is the front where the hot air cones out. Casing remains quite cool.
