Downunder Hotplate Questions & Answers
this BBQ is not the one that I have. I have a down under BBQ, but with a hood, as was wondering where you would get a plastic handle for the hood? as my is damaged.
I have a down under BBQ and was wondering if you sell the plastic handles that you use to lift the hood up as one of our handles broke
Bunnings sell one that looks exactly the same - I bought the Bunnings one but it doesn't get hot enough. Does this one suffer the same problem?
Can you purchase replacement burners?
I was told by BBQ Galore staff that you can buy a metal flat lid for $19.95 !!! with handle. Belongs to the weber family. Can anybody confirm this from experience
Did you end up getting a lid???
CAN YOU BUY A LID TO COVER BBQ. DON
I don't think so Don - I made a simple fabric one
Where can we get the lid for the barbeque?
Hi Sid, we bought the lid from bbqs Galore
Thanks Diane, I was checking online and couldn't find the lid. Do you remember what its called?
How do you fold up the legs to put in the boot of the car?
There aren't any legs, Sheridan! It's a solid stainless steel cooktop to set on a bench or table and it's not meant to be portable. It also needs a 15 amp plug and draws a large amount of power so, depending on your existing power supply, you could possibly need to get an electrician to install a new circuit.
Me again Sheridan - my apologies I was assuming your question was about a different Hotplate so please ignore my previous reply! In fact we bought the stainless steel hotplate I mentioned because we were very unhappy with the Downunder BBQ which started shedding thick paint off the hotplate as soon as we started using it. Now the hotplate is full of rust.
How hot does it get compared to other BBQ's?
My current bbq dosnt get hot enuff to cook stakes.
Ummm because I bought this BBQ for a club - it worked fine for snags. It seems to have plenty of heat but can't give you a definite answer on that one but my guess would be yes.
