You can get in touch via our helpline on 087 807 9353 or via email on DysonService@tudortech.co.zaOur Dyson V8 Absolute plus cuts out after a couple of minutes. I put it on and then straight off the charger and it works again, abeilt less working time. I have to keep doing this and the cleaner works for less and less time until the battery eventually runs out. There are no blockages and the filters are clean. The cleaner does not pulsate or surge while operating, it just cuts out. Has been doing this for a few weeks now. My Dyson is 2 years old.

My V8 is pulsing despite thorough cleaning of the filters and no blockages. I have had it about 2 years. Is it likely the battery needs replacing?

My original battery died and Dyson exchanged it, that was about 2 years ago.
The new battery now displays the following behaviour:
Seems to charge very quickly, however it only runs for a maximum of 3.5 minutes on extra power (and lately if feels it has reduced even further).
Also in some cases it just cuts off power intermittently and works again (feels like it's chocking but I cannot see why).
In some cases, when it stops after 3.5 minutes, and I plug it in power for a couple of minutes it runs again for a about 30 seconds.
Great machine, but the battery has been a problem. Any help?
Michael
Actually I just found the receipt. I bought it in September 2016. So it's only 2.5 years old.

Staff showed me that both filters were clogged with dust. The long conical filter can be washed, while the smaller disk-shaped filter needs a tap or two to dislodge dust. Our V8 is now purring sweetly again.Hi Karen,
Thank you for your question....
Read more Although what you experienced was unpleasant, we assure you that this kind of static shock is harmless and is not associated with the main supply. The batteries in our cordless and handheld machines do not have sufficient voltage to create an electric shock. Static electricity can occur in many ways and does build up in plastics quite easily. In a vacuum cleaner, static build up is due to the rubbing of fast moving particles against its plastic and metal surfaces. Due to the unusually large amount of dust that your Dyson could collect if you have previously owned a conventional vacuum cleaner, this is more likely to happen when you first use your Dyson. Once your Dyson has dealt with this accumulated amount of dust, and with regular use of your cleaner, you should not experience further problems. To help discharge the static electricity on your vacuum, you can wipe the clear bin and handle area with a slightly damp cloth. Ensure it's fully dry before use. Best wishes, Samuel https://www.dyson.com.au/dyson-supportHi, I own a V8, it has never really operated well. Cuts in and out and now it won’t charge at all. Dead as a doorpost. Lucky for me I already owned a DC37 which I can use as backup. I’m terribly disappointed as I was hopeful the V8 would be kinder on my back when vacuuming. Does anyone else have the same issue? Hi Anna,
Thanks for your question....
Read more If the machine also starts making a pulsating noise and will not pick up correctly once the wand it attached it means there is an obstruction of airflow. The obstruction is likely to be located in the motorhead, the wand or possibly the valve inside the bin inlet could be jammed and is unable to regulate the airflow. Please begin by checking your machine over as demonstrated here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dpxRl17N03E If that does not resolve the issue, please contact our Dyson experts via https://www.dyson.com.au/dyson-support with your machine's details and a description of the issue and we will assist you further. Read more We recommend storing the machine at room temperature, as if the machine is exposed to temperatures below 3 degrees, the machine will shut off and not run or charge until back at room temperature. If your garage regularly is below 3 degrees, it may not be the ideal place to store the machine. Your Dyson V8 has smart electronics within the machine, battery and charger to ensure the machine won't overcharge. Because of these electronics, it is ok to do quick "top-up" charges without the need to exhaust the battery each time before charging. It is also recommended you leave the machine on charge when not in use, this will ensure it is always ready for your next cleaning session. The electronics in the machine will ensure the battery charges to 100%, but not over. Best wishes, ShanIs it safe to leave the dyson v8 plugged in all the time or should it be un plugged after full charge

With no attachments connected and the power switch not pressed, If I flip the motor-head upside down or move it around, there is a strange rattling sound inside as if some screw has come loose and moving around. Is this normal? I could not isolate where exactly inside the sound is from. Removed and reinserted the HEPA filter and also opened and closed the bin, but the sound is still there when I flip the unit.
Hi there,
Thank you for your query....
Read more This sound is completely normal. This sound is the valve in the bin closing and opening. Under normal use, this valve works to stop debris from falling out of the machine when it is being moved. I hope this helps, however please let us know if we can assist further. Best wishes, Shan https://www.dyson.com.au/dyson-supportIs there a way to extend the battery life of the absolute plus? The battery always drains before I finish my work and I then have to wait for another 5 hours until I can finish vacuuming my apartment, which is realistically the following day or the day after due to my busy life.
Is it possible to purchase a second battery and swap them when the first one drains? or perhaps, is there a way to use the absolute plus while plugged in to the electric power?
Are you using it on Max power mode? Try the lower setting which is plenty for most uses. That should give you a round half an hour of use

I am getting an electrical shock from the handle. I do not want to worry about this everytime i go to vacuum how is Dyson accommodating people for this design flaw?
Return for a replacement! That should never happen with any appliance. I'ts not a design flaw as its not affecting all dysons.
