Electrolux A Modo Mio Questions & Answers
VerifiedHi, I purchased a 2nd hand Electrolux ELMM5250S coffee machine. The steam/hot water spout works well but the coffee spout only drips. I endeavoured to do a descaler with purchased solution. Instructions suggest that after turning on, press steam button for 3 seconds, release then turn steam knob on. The manual states that the steam button and cup button should flash alternately but only the steam button flashes. Also the manual states that when the machine is first turned on that both cup buttons should flash and when the flashing stops the machine is ready to make coffee but the cup buttons do not flash. ??????? Any light on the problem and solution would be greatly appreciated. Colin
Electrolux, AEG & Saeco no longer make the machines for Lavazza…I have spoken with Lavazza in Melbourne & told the machines are not repairable..they are cheap to replace..problem is Landfill / I won’t be buying another Lavazza Machine. SMEG now makes a machine not cheap & a new Machine named Voicy that has Alexa & an APP.
What pods
Lavazza Modo mio at coles usually $10 on special $8 or buy on ebay
Am I able to get a lid for my milk container? I had this machine in storage and only just opened the box and it didn’t have a lid!
Electrolux & Lavazza have parted ways a few years ago - I needed a Part & rang both Companies - Lavazza said they don’t stock parts….they told me cheaper to buy a New Machine…. They are throw away machines with a limited lifespan. I told the woman how many Lavazza machines are in Landfill. I had a spare new Lavazza Machine - I won’t be buying another throw away machine…polluting our Environment …
Thank you for your prompt response, guess I’ll throw it without ever using it! Next time I’ll make sure all the parts are in the box before I leave the store…
I have a coffee machine lavaza mode mio favola, the coffee machine turns off in the middle of work, I'm preparing a coffee, the machine starts working and then stops working completely turns off, I have to restart the machine and wait until it's ready for it restarted once more, what could be the problem.
Problem is obviously electrical - I have spoken with Lavazza in Melbourne a few months ago. My machine was leaking badly. I was told all their machines are not repairable (ie into LandFill). I rang Electrolux (they made the machine) woman told me we stopped making Lavazza Coffee Machines several years ago, she said we don’t repair the machines - she suggested I ring Lavazza. I told her I had spoken with Lavazza & told machines are not repairable. Your option is to buy another Lavazza Machine or buy a different Brand. I did ring a number of Coffee Machine Repairers (Google) they all said we don't repair Lavazza Products. I am using a French Press Plunger I bought from Myer ($29.95). I still buy Lavazza Coffee & only have to boil a Jug of Water. It is obvious the Machines do not have a long life span & the thousands if not million of these plastic machines worldwide end up in Landfill (Pollution)!
I have a Modo Mio Fantasia, love the machine but it not pushing water through when a pod is in the cradle. Only when there is no pod will water come through. I took it to a recommended Electrolux repairer in Bankstown, they have it for 3 months and couldn't work out the problem, I'm Guessing its the pump. Can anyone help?
I too have the same Machine - I know it is discontinued Model - mine had been sitting in a box for a few years unused. I started to use the machine about 5 months ago…it now has so many problems. I rang Lavazza in Victoria - the woman told me 12 month Warranty so….my machine is not covered anymore. She said Lavazza Coffee Machines are not repairable !! I said to her - so I just throw away my machine & it goes into Landfill, she replied, “Yes” & buy a new one she again said “Yes”. I then rang the manufacturer (Electrolux) of the machine - they stopped making Lavazza Machines a number of years ago - they don’t have anything to do with Lavazza anymore.. I still have an unused (boxed) Magia Lavazza Machine - I wonder if it will last longer than a few months. Having owned a few Lavazza Amodo Mio Machines since the 1980’s - I won’t be buying another Lavazza Machine when the Magia dies. Shame, I love their (Capsule landfill) Coffee….I would love to buy an Italian Real Coffee Espresso (Manual Machine) but they cost from about $1,500 to $7,000 plus, they are repairable & last for years & years. They are not throw away - Land Fill rubbish. Many of us are very aware of our environment & want to keep as much ‘Stuff’ out of Landfill as possible. I now avoid buying anything Plastic have done this for a few years. We survived without plastic for Eons - it is cheap & very nasty/dangerous for Planet Earth - we have to think before we buy anything nowdays.
My milk frother doesn’t heat up the milk very hot
I had the same problem - I rang Lavazza in Victoria - they told me they no longer repair their Machines & no idea who could repair Machine. I rang Electrolux & was told they no longer Manufacture Lavazza Machines. I was told to to ring around & try & find a Coffee Machine Repairer- I ran 3 Coffee Machine Repairers - they didn’t repair Lavazza ‘A Modo Mio’. They did suggest to buy a separate Milk Frother - I decided to just drink Black Coffee, it solved the problem. One Repairer told me most Lavazza Machines are very cheap - throw it away & buy a New one…..We have enough problems with Land Fill - I dislike our throw away society…..
Oh bugger, I will not throw mine away either. I will just put coffee in microwave for 20 seconds after making it.

How exactly do you remove the water tank at the back for cleaning please? Anybody know? Instructions tell you to take it off and clean it but not how to. Do not want to break anything by pulling the wrong way! The model of ELM5250 doesnt have a letter after it so l picked A. Many thanks, Heather
