Goldair GSIR220 Questions & Answers
Anyone know where to buy a new element for one of these heaters?
If it's still under a warranty take it back to shop of purchase..If element didn't last long make a complaint to shop & Goldair company..& write a bad review..I haven't had that problem.
The heaters are only $29 from Big-W, I know this doesn't answer your question but I imagine parts would cost almost as much as a new heater. Good luck!
Thanks. I gave Goldair a bad review because they won't honour the warranty on my 4 month old heater. Apparently, eBay stores are not "authorised distributors" of Goldair products. A warranty is a warranty I would have thought, and if there are conditions attached to a warranty, these conditions should be made clear by Goldair. There's no mention of "authorised distributors" in the warranty details which came with the heater, or on the Goldair Australia website. The eBay seller is happy to refund my money, but why should Goldair get away with such dodgy practices? The value of the heater is not the point, it's Goldair's unspecified warranty conditions which are a bit dodgy. A brand new heater is a brand new heater, wherever it's bought from.
I have been using the heater from the past two months and I usually leave it on under the first setting. I have noticed that the first bar has a small crack sort of a thing and it making spark noises. Is this normal?
Of course not-! Mine has no faults so take yours to shop & show it..If it seems faulty it will be replaced.Had no troubles with mine & is a good, not to hot heat over winter
Take it back for sure, and get a replacement or refund. I have had mine for a couple of months now and no problems, its a good size, a good price and cheap to run.
Will they replace without the bill? I haven’t saved the bill or the box
Mine did the same thing for a short time, then it failed completely. The heater has only been used for about 3 months. The bottom bar still works though. Goldair won't honour the warranty because I bought the heater online!
Is the outside case of this heater made of plastic or metal? If plastic, how many hours can you use the heater before the plastic becomes unsafe?
The grey/black outer layer is plastic. I’m not too sure about how long of a use to become unsafe. My family and I use it around 3 hours and it’s still fine.
Thanks Luna. Very helpful.
