Honda VT400 Questions & Answers
My vt400 makes a ticking noise sounds electrical from top of engine under the fuel tank only starts ticking at 60kph
Has anybody had the engine check light and HISS light come on at the same time, bike lost power and cut out and restarted. I have just had the injectors cleaned and a new fuel pump fitted two weeks ago.
Hi, I really need vt400 rear seat. But, it's really hard to find it here in my country. Any suggestion any other rear seat from other motorcycle that I can use. Since, I find it is easier to find Harley Davidson, can I use it? Any suggestion type? Many thanks

Why is my engine light on
I’m looking at a second hand 400 steed. It has a drive shaft and has 27000 on the clock. My question is when the shaft will need replacing and how expensive is the job?
Has anyone experienced a problem with the second gear? Most times it refuses to accept the shift from first to second -
hi, what is the average consumption for 100 km? thanks.
About 4.5 litres depending how hard you are pushing. The low fuel light comes on with 80km range left.
How does it go sitting on 100kph? I want to buy a cruiser for mostly highway riding and unsure as I've never ridden a cruiser.
Will go comfortably all day at 100kph, passing at up to 120kph. However extended steeper hills will have you in 4th or 3rd to stay at 100kph. Only a problem if riding in a group with better power to weight ratios remembering the bike weighs about 250kg. I rode the Putty Rd in NSW easily on the VT400.
Hi guys. I have a VT400 and love it. It has after market pipes, sound great and I'm currently swapping my air filter jousting or arrowhead type air filter.
Is there any simple/inexpensive ways of gaining a little more power?
Cheers.
The VT400 is always going to feel a bit underpowered if you are cruising at 100kph up hills. It will go all day at these speeds on gentle slopes however does not have the torque to handle the steeper grades at high speed. I up-graded to the VT750 which will do everything you want and can probably take on board all your accessories from the VT400.
Thanks mate. Much appreciated.
I am looking for a first bike. Has anyone taken the NSW M.O.S.T. test on a vt400? If so, how did it handle during the test?
Bushy.
I'm keen to see the answer to this, I'm.also thinking of buying one and I also need to do the p's test
Is it suitable for a 5 foot 2 inch female?
Absolutely, I'm a small build and have no problems reversing, turning etc. It is sensitive to your body position so not a difficult bike to control. Highly recommend - as my first time out on a bike the VT400 was so easy the bike does all the work for you.
would you recommend it for an older lady learner

hi there, I am 6ft 2 and close to 90kg and this things takes me everywhere comfortably with ease. Please do test ride it to really know what it feels like, in terms of comfort. For me it is a very comfortable ride, I recently rode it for 2 hours straight, no comfort issues what so ever. Definitely suitable for a learner rider.
