Hey, i have a 2013 Hunter Spyder 350. The right indicator on the bike works and flashes on the dash but the left ones dont flash and doesnt work on the dash. If you know anything on how to fix it please let me know. Been happening for months and i am seeking all the help I can.
You must have dropped it and damaged the switch gear. Open up the switch housing and you see a stub blocking the indicator switch from going all the way to the left.

Can you derestrict a 250 cc Hunter Cruiser engine/carburettor?
The short answer is no. The long answer is that the engine is not really restricted, it's just not a powerful engine. Back in the day, guys in the USA used to put larger jets in the carby and either remove the baffles from the pipes or replace the pipes with factory baffle free pipes. This was only to make the bikes louder, not more powerful. Some guys flirted with engine swaps but they were never cost effective or particularly successful due to the lightweight frames being made for small and light engines.
Another rumor doing the rounds is that these engines are copies of the Honda Rebel 250. They sort of are but they are different enough that the parts are not interchangeable. So no help there. About the best you can do is to give it a good tune up and fit some iridium plugs one step hotter. From memory the stock plugs are a 7 heat range and I went up to a 6. That fixed the plugs fouling but no increase in power as you'd expect.
If you're looking for a higher top speed or to just stop the engine revving its head off the then you can replace the rear sprocket with a 30 tooth sprocket. That will drop the revs a lot and make for a better cruising experience but at the expense of some low end torque.
In the end you would be better off selling the bike and buying something else as these things fall apart.
Hi im pretty much a complete newby to cruisers and i dont exactly feel like forking out a ton of money as im on my ls, now im only a little guy at just over 5'7 would i run into any problems in terms of reach for the forward controls/handlebars and if that's the case is it possible to shift the pedals back a bit?
The forward controls are fitted with brackets that will basically give you 3 position possibilities, depending on whether you choose to use the brackets in the rear or most forward position. In the middle position, you can remove the brackets. Should the most rear position still be too far forward, you can have a set of brackets custom made, and the brake side will have no issues, but the gear side will then need some adjustment regarding the lever between the gear pedal and the linkage. No big issue however.
I can't get the sleeves to go back in to the folks so I can put it together

Hi we just purchased a 2011 Hunter Spyder for our son, we are not bike savvy but he tried to start it and it won't go, we charged the battery it sounds like it is kicking over but just won't start, not sure where to look for choke or if it even has one please help. Thankyou
Not being mean here I strongly recommend not spending money on the bike and selling it .You will be chasing money after money. Its very very hard to guess a problem over the internet without seeing it.
Jimmy is correct, sell the bike now. They are junk and it's hard to get parts or anything out of Hunter. I ended up getting parts from China to repair my Spyder before I sold it. Only keep it if you are good at welding and fixing mechanical things.
No wonder you could get the parts from China. These bikes are manufactured in China. I have a 2010 Leonart 350, same as the Hunter 350 or Regal Raptor 350 or Jawa 350. It`s all the same bike. And they are most definitely not junk. If it`s a 125 or a 250 ccm bike, it is carbureted and should be fairly easy to work maintenance on. The 350 is a fuel injected version with all the sensors and bells and whistles that goes with that, but mine is working flawlessly, and it`s now got 21000 km on it.
Mine was a 2008 250cc and yes it had a carburettor. Elsewhere on product review I posted my experience with the bike and I stand by my comments, they are junk. I bought it new, put 5000 to 6000 Km on it and sold it after two years.
Well, you´ve just been unlucky. I´ve put 25000km on mine now, and the only issues I have had with it, is the electrics. Not because the factory has made any mistakes, but the owner before me, has apparently dropped the bike or crashed it at some point, and replaced the taillight and turn-signal lights with aftermarket parts (read; Wish) and they have been put on by a hack who clearly had no clue as to how this is supposed to be done. After sorting out these things, I´ve had no problems with injection system, ignition, fork seals or anything. And I ride the bike every day as my daily driver to and from work at highway speed. Running 25 miles at 70 mph is no problem. Doesn´t leak a drop of oil, and the engine is really strong. In 5th gear down to 20 mph and up again is no problem. I think that is basically because it´s a copied Honda engine, which is very good. And the inverted fork gives you great stability. I´ve never had a wobble with this bike, not even the slightest. And the brakes are amazingly good. 4 piston calipers and dual disks front and single disk rear, it has double the brake capacity of my Kawasaki VN750 which also had dual disks front, but it wasn´t even close to the Leonart. The only thing I don´t like about the bike is the original dual seat. It makes me cramp up. I´m 6 foot 3, so the LePera solo seat gives me a perfect riding position.
Im in the prosses of buying a xs 650 yamaha to put in my hunter spyder ... Is the a better engine for the job? And any hot tips for what im in for changing the motor?
RVM already makes a 600 that fits in the Daytona and the Spyder. They are also working on an 800, but so far, that´s only a prototype.
What the correct grade engine oil to use in hunter syder
The oil according to service and maintenance sheet should be 15W 40. (That means you can run it on cheap diesel engine oil which is nice ).
