Error 8: After turning on our ~8-year-old Jura J6 machine, it started making kicking noises and then displayed "Error 8." I didn’t want to spend a fortune on professional repairs since the machine is old, but I also didn’t want to just throw it away. How can I open the machine with the special screwdriver tip? Where can I order the tools to open it myself? I really love the Jura J6.

Dear DanD Thank you for your question there is something a stone/bark stuck in the grinder from the coffee beans, please remove the bin lid, unscrew the guard, remove beans and vacuum the grinder out. Once done put a little beans and test the machine. Kind Regards JURA Australia

I recently had my machine serviced by Jura after experiencing the same concern, a small stone had siezed the grinder. I sent my machine to Jura in Melbourne. Amazing service from them

My Jura J6 seems blocked. After grinding the beans, it delivers a couple of teaspoons of coffee, the bubbles screen shows and then it stops. Any suggestions?

I can't seem to get the milk to froth. Recently visited a Jura centre who sold me a litre of milk system cleaner saying this may help. On the Maintenance menu I found "Cappuccino rinse now". On pressing the button it comes up with "Confirmed" and a tick, but nothing else. How do I activate the milk system cleaning? Regards, Nic

when you look at the milk frother on the left top you see a black piece approx. 25mm high x 10mm dia. remove the top (twist & pull) wash this piece in warm water squeezing the tip(this is the bit that froths the milk). replace, set dial on first division from right (fine tune when making coffee). Sit milk container on a stand approx. 80mm. high. After making coffee always rinse the milk container & tube & fill 3/4 with cold water, press(P) on top of machine then press clean milk system, then press next. Once a week use the cleaner as per instructions. One other tip I stir the coffee into the milk when coffee first starts. Nearly forgot do not seal top of milk container when making coffee or cleaning.

I have a j6 it's about 8 years old and the two button coffee has been set on 8 oz and would fill a coffee cup to the top today all of a sudden it started overflowing the coffee cup and I did not change the setting can anybody tell me what is wrong? What I did to remedy it was going to the settings I saw that the one cup of coffee with set on 5 oz so then I set the two cups of coffee on 5 oz and now it fills the cup all the way up without overflowing so I have one cup set at 5 oz and it fills about a half a cup and I have the two cups set at 5 oz and it feels a cup all the way up without overflowing but I can't figure out why did it start overflowing out of the blue and I'm not sure if I'm the two cups is it double the amount of ounces because it's to 5 oz cups where before it was two 8 oz cups which does not make sense because it did not overflow before help please

One of my mates recommended sending it to a Jura service centre, the service is well worth, but that’s according to him;) it’s the one in Melville.

Good morning - it seems that all my drinks with milk are somewhat lukewarm. I would like my milk to be a little warmer. Is there anyway to help with this?

Npb

The only possible answer I am aware of which is the normal response is to preheat the cup.

Not aware of any other way to generate heat except maybe a few seconds in the microwave.

Stephen

Preheating the cup is really the only way. I fill the cup with boiling water for a few seconds before making the coffee. This will stop the cup from drawing heat from your coffee.

Yes my coffee is also Luke warm, its been an issue since I bought the the machine back on 06.01.18. Jura support have been playing games with me and sending me new parts. I just want a refund and now after 1.5 years are saying it needs to go to repairs... I have wasted copious amounts of bags of coffee beans and milk, however no acknowledgement from Jura in respect of this. My next step for a refund is contacting the legal bodies. Its just a joke..

I am using my j6 machine for the first time and can't get past the no filter section, the machine also doesn't seem to be filling with water can you help me with this please?

William
William

Details setting is to make sure we install filter as part of setup, and the filter needs to be submerged in water before putting it in the tank, so that air is not trapped in the filter.

How do I switch from coffee beans to ground coffee? It keeps using the coffee beans and not give me an option for using the ground coffee.

JURA Australia
JURA Australia   DM

Dear Mike S, To Switch from beans to pre-ground you need to open the pre-ground shute waite to the screen to say add pre-ground coffee add two scoops, please use the spoon out of your welcome bag and close cover press the desired coffee and it will make the coffee from the pre-ground. if you need any further assistance please email us on support2@au.jura.com or call 1300 285 872.

HI, I have a Jura J6 for over 2 years. Just came up with a message now saying not enough ground coffee. I don't use ground coffee, I only use bean. Other reviews said to use a vacuum to suck out anything stuck, tried that in all crevices but to no avail. Help!

JURA Australia
JURA Australia   DM

Dear Keesha, Thank you for your question, if you could kindly open the pre-ground lid and see if you can see any gound coffee, how you changed the grinder setting to fine? if this has been changed and not in the middle the grinder can over grind the beans causing a fine grind that blocks the machine and goes up the pre-ground shute just sends a error message to the machine not enough ground coffee or it could be the beans please vacuum the pre-ground shute and test the machine.

Kind Regards

JURA Support team.

Hi, I have tried all of the above... still comes up with the same error message...?

i would take it in for servicing , people as consumers do not have a lot of time to do research - it can be a number of things - ranging from the type of bean used which may have more natural oil in it - derived from the roasting process. The residue / grinds catches on the delivery shoot on the way out from the grinder restricting the passage to the brew housing. so there may not be enough coffee getting to brew group. In all, for the copious amounts of coffee these machines make and the high quality of the machine i would recommend an annual service at minimum. and use a light to medium roast such as Grinders which is local to Coles and Woolies ( look at the bean rating to see whether it is light medium or dark roast )

this was a repeat.
