Hi, haven't used my Macap much lately as I now have a Niche and a Major modded for SD, but even when single dosing my Macap M2M, it never ever clogged up. It's a very well made and reliable grinder. Which is why I've kept mine, mainly for decaff. The only things that may reasonably occur with a low volume of beans in the hopper is popcorning or perhaps a bit of grind size variation. It's very important to remember when changing grind settings... particularly from coarser to finer to keep the grinder running...or you're likely to clog it up, badly. Humidity might be an issue and yes, the burrs/blades don't last terribly long. Upside is they're simple to replace and not expensive. Remember, optimally fresh beans will give you better and more consistent results

Thanks Craig, I'll have another shot at it. Fool around with a coarser grind. Thinking back, it was mid summer in the Northern Rivers (NSW) so basically three months of sauna.

Thanks for the tips.

Good luck mate, they're a nice sturdy well made little unit and despite it being somewhat out of fashion these days, it should be performing well when the Brevilles are all landfill

I have had a macap m2m grinder for 2 years no problems. Now having issues with grinds clearing , clogging every grind. Do the paddles wear and is a replacement part available? Where to buy?

Hi Grant I'm having exactly the same trouble. the Macap seems to endlessly clog up. However I haven't used it for ages because I inherited a Breville Barista+ from friends. I tried everything to fix the Macap clog issue but the online users advice suggests it may be because there isn't enough coffee bean bulk in the hopper to push it through. I'm not sure about that. I dismantled mine and cleaned it thoroughly. But then the Breville arrived.

You've spurred my curiosity though - it's not as if there are many moving parts - the grinder burrs and a chute. I'll go have another shot; no point having a useless commercial grade grinder.

Good luck. I'll let you know how I go but please do let me know if you find a solution too.
