Masport 500 Cylinder Mowers Questions & Answers
VerifiedAre the six blade and ten blade reels interchangeable on a Masport Olympic 500 mower. It currently has a six blade reel but I want a finer cut.
A 10-blade cutting reel can be swapped for a 6-blade cutting reel and vice versa. They are not interchangeable in the sense of being an interchangeable cartridge. has the golf improved any of these problems in past few years looking at purchasing but after reviews may go to cox
I really don't know, but the response when I spoke to someone in the Masport office about the question of shielding the motor controls was that "no one has complained before so it must be a problem of my own making". I doubt that much has been changed.
The c Chain on my reel mower is very loose. It appears to be adjusted to the maximum. do chains normally stretch that much, and do I need to remove a link.
The C chain has broken three times in the past eighteen months. Why? Any thoughts. John
This must be the only fault I haven't had, but if this is the drive chain to the blades it could be that the blade bearings are not free causing stress through the drive system. The blades on mine seized up solidly recently and had to be renewed.
How can I stop the front roller from pushing down the grass so it doesn’t get cut. Is the front roller too low or is this is what happens normally. Could I just remove the front roller?
Perhaps the lawn is too long?
Hey guys. Looking at getting a cylinder mower. Masport or supaswift?
what is the advantage of a split front roller as against full steel roller? and what is the advantage of a 10 blade as against a 6 blade reel? My use is for maintaining a croquet green.
The split rear roller makes turning easier and avoids “scrubbing” up the grass
The 10 blades provides more cuts per meter so you get a finer cut
Yes makes turning easier, however this mower leaves lines in my lawn it really is a very average mower for the price.
