How well does the Dolphin X6 handle the cleaning of steps within the pool?

Hi James, Thank you for your enquiry regrading the Dolphin Active X6. Climbing steps and benches/ledges as areas that require cleaning is not part of the mapping process that each robot undertakes in order to clean any pool. As robotic pool cleaners have a footprint of approximately 400mm, it is not guaranteed that robots will be able to climb steps and benches/ledges due to the variance in size, shape, depth and shape of steps between pools.

Whilst it is not uncommon for a Dolphin to navigate to these areas, the water depth may be too shallow for the robot to navigate. A minimum water depth of 400mm is required for the Dolphin to function as it ensures that the impeller is fully covered by water.

How effective is this cleaner with large amount of leaves.

Outstanding! This robot has no problems in collecting all the leaves from our pool. The filter basket is quite large and normally takes 2-3 cleans to fill. Our pool is situated amongst dense foliage and has been managing quite well. The wireless function is surprisingly useful, that's how I have been using the robot all the time.

Thanks heaps. Is there any alert on the app when basket is full.

Hi Bryan. Thank you for reaching out. Many models of Dolphin have large capacity filter baskets to hold a significant amount of debris. Please note however, with regards to heavy leaf matter particularly, any floating debris may require manual removal.

Back in October 2020 You could buy X6 DOPHIN for $1900 and now after the pandemic with covid they hike these prices to $2900. Please explain? My personal opinion is that it's absolutely outrageous. People should not be paying this amount of money for a pool robot.

They've never been $1900 retail. I was working in a pool shop at that time and they were retailing for $2300, you may have seen them discounted to $1900 but that wouldve been a bargain. The rise to $2900 is rational as all costs have risen.

Consider the base model which only does floors and has no programming would now retail (I think) for about $1250, pretty much double that price for two motors (not just the 1) in the X6, upgraded everything else, and programmable functions. Seems like a no brainer if you need all those features, otherwise grab something in the middle.

Hello Michael. We thank you for your feedback. When these models were launched, they had a recommended retail price of $2999. As all agents are independent from Maytronics, they are able to offer discounts and promotions on the models of Dolphin that they stock in their respective stores. In addition, the Active X6 and its respective equivalent models are at the top of their lines and in turn, their pricing reflects this.
