no it does not require servicing but you need to clean the filter after each use. We have had ours 1 year now without an issue

Hi, we also have steps and a long ledge and the dolphin does a great job cleaning both. The top entry step which is on a corner and is quite small needs to be hand cleaned but it covers the rest of the pool, ledge and step very well

There is a cleaning setting where it can climb the walls so yes it can do steps. Only issue is small crevasses as it is quite large

Hi Nick P. Thank you for your enquiry. Our Dolphin robots are not programmed to clean steps, benches, and tanning ledges. Our robots need a minimum depth of 31-41 inches to function properly, if the water level covering the robot is less than this, the Dolphin will shut down as a failsafe.

The Dolphin will only be able to clean the stairs if it has room to stand on them entirely and if the water level is deep enough.

We recommend brushing dirt on the stairs onto the bottom of the pool, for the robot to be able to clean the debris.

I just googled and found this - micron size of 50 for ultra fine filter, 70 for normal filter
