How to replace a cord on the s50
Hello Mary. As the blue cable is fitted to the motor unit of the robot, Maytronics recommends for an authorised service technician to perform the replacement of the blue cable for any model of Dolphin.

Is the Dolphin S50 compatible for in-ground pools? If the unit is taxed too much, will it shut off automatically?

I am located in Kingston, New York. The power supply appears to be turning off after about 20 minutes, the PS is warm near the on switch, with the filter basket collecting only a few ounces of what may be calcuim or DE sand. Once cleaned and re-entered into pool, it does restart (seemingly the power supply has cooled down) and functions as normal - until it powers down again. So I'm thinking maybe a new mother board or sending PS in for repair?

We have an older 24’ round above ground pool. Because the top of the pool is steel, it has rusted and pieces of rust fall into the pool. Will the Dolphin s50 pick up the rust pieces and not puncture the liner? We’re getting a new pool next year, but for this year, will it work?
Hi Ellen. As the S50 is a floor only model, it will collect debris from the pool floor. Generally, robots are able to filter particles, such as rust. Robots do not have the capability to damage liners however, it does depend on the size of the rusted pieces and also their sharpness. Ensure that there are no sections of the liner that are peeling as to avoid any possibility of the rust puncturing the vinyl.
Why does it seem to ride flat in reverse, and ride nose up (like pulling a wheelie on a motorbike) while traveling forward?
Hi Peter. The Dolphin S50 may appear to do a 'wheelie' when it is turning. However, if it appears to be doing a 'wheelie' when travelling forward, we recommend to check the filter basket to ensure it is not full and/or clogged and to check the impeller from any obstruction. Is the dolphinDB1 suitable for pools with vinyl liners that have seams where edges of the liner are glued together?
