Hi is it good for dry skin?

I would say definable not, I have very dehydrated skin and this product will dry you out even more because it contains salicylic acid - a peeling agent that works by chemically exfoliates skin. And extended use may thin skin layer and end up with drier skin. If you have dry skin I'd recommend to avoid 'salicylic acid' in the ingredients list altogether. Check out this article on salicylic acid.

When I initially purchased this i was under the impression that a 'cream' cleanser is supposed to be more hydrating, and learnt that this is not necessarily the case after using this Neutrogena cream cleanser. All it means is that it comes in a cream form.

Try a gentle glycerin based cleanser to avoid stripping oil from the skin. At the moment, I am using La Roche-Posay Toleriane foaming gel cleanser to remove makeup, and on makeup free days I'm using Cetaphil RestoraDerm skin restoring body wash( which is appropriate for face according to my pharmacist and dermatologist). They are both very gentle and won't dry your skin out.

Neutrogena also has a gentle cleanser that is recommended by my dermatologist which I'm yet to try though.

Also try to buy fragrance free and alcohol free, those two ingredients dries out skin like nothing else!
