Can I use the parent monitor SC875 connected to power at all times without the rechargeable battery in it? Our battery is faulty but I don’t want to be without a camera while we get it replaced.

Hi, if I buy two cameras, can I leave one set up at our holiday house and one at our main house (and simply bring the monitor when we travel) or is there a maximum distance the cameras can be? Thanks

Hi there, the range of a connected camera on the SC875 is up to 300m from the parent unit. As this unit does not use Wifi, the camera would not connect over that distance. However, you would still have a camera that would connect at either location while you are there within 300m.

Hi, how do i activate/deactivate night mode with this camera? It seems the picture at night only works if there is light in the room

HI Kyle, the camera has IR sensors that will turn on in a dark environment, and display the footage on the parent unit as Black and White. We would love to assist you with this, so please call our locally based Oricom Support on 02 4574 8888 Mon-Fri 8am-6pm AEST, as the team will be able to assist. All the best, Oricom.

Hi, how good is your picture quality at night? I have a vtech which is forever dropping out and stops working alllll the time. So I need a new brand. The only good thing is the night time picture with the vtech is amazing. You can see incredibly clearly. Is your product the same? Thanks

It looks like the screen can be put into standby mode (i.e. light/screen off during the day/night) and only pick up when baby cries etc. But does the sound go into standby mode? I wouldn't want the screen to go off but the white noise etc. still playing all night.

What is the range for this device? And do Oricom do software updates - I have learned this is important so monitors can't be hacked. Thanks!

Hi there, the SC875 has a listed range of up to 300m measured in line of sight. Importantly, this unit does not use or utilise Wi-Fi, instead relies on a secure connection between a single parent unit and a connected camera. If you would like to discuss further, please give our locally based team a call on 02 4574 8888 Mon-Fri 8am-6pm AEDT, as the team will be able to assist. All the best, Oricom.

Can the screen be put into standby mode so it does not display but will pick up noise and then it can be turned back on or does it stay on all the time? Also can you turn the night light off or is it constantly on

Oricom
Oricom   DM

Hi there, the monitor has VOX so the screen can go black and turn back on when a threshold of audio is detected in the nursery. This is in single camera mode only. Night light can be on or off. Oricom.

Does the parent unit come with a charging cord or does the rechargeable battery need to be removed to charge? It's not clear on any of the websites how it works.

Hi Amelia, thanks for the message. The SC875 comes with a charging cord for the parent unit. All the best, Oricom Baby Care.

How does the 2 camera option work? Does the screen split in 2 or does it scan from one to the next? If the screen is split in 2, can you hear noise from both babies at the same time? Thanks

Oricom
Oricom   DM

Hi there, the screen does split into 2 (or 4 if 4 cameras are connected). The sound from only one camera will play at a time though, as it would be impossible to decipher the sound and where it was coming from, if all audio for each camera played at the same time. Oricom Baby Care.
