Hi, mine did the same and was replaced by oricom.
My pricing 520 purchased in February 2016 has recently been making a clicking tick sound.... in cradle and out of cradle... battery is also only lasting 2-3 hrs out of cradle and taking all night to charge fully. Anything I'm missing about why its making a tick sound ???
Hi. My monitor too makes that clicking sound. I thought it was the automatic fly spray we have in there. Hmmm so unless you have one as well now I will have to see what else it could possibly be. If I work it out I will let you know. Mine goes even when nobody is in there.
Mine makes the same noise. Generally it's when either the batteries are low and about to cut out. Or sometimes when the monitor is about to unlink (not sure if it's a problem with the cord?) however there is times when it does it for no reason! I also have a newer Oricom model ( need two for two seperate rooms) and it does the exact same thing...
Hi dragonfly, It may be the battery that is causing the issue, can you call our Customer Support team on 1300 889 785 so they can assist with this please? Your reference for the call is : HL64207. Kind regards, Oricom Baby Care
I have a diabetic 8-year-old who has a pump which alarms during the night. The alarm isn't loud and my current baby monitor does not pick up the beeps. I need it for night time only and don't need any bells and whistles. Which or Oricom monitor would you recommend?
Hi Prue... much as we're enjoying the bells and whistles that come with the 610 (we thought we probably wouldn't use them, but the kids love them) you probably don't need them if you're just after a clear baby monitor. The 510 should be fine. That said, if you don't need the thermometer feature, I think the 320 is cheaper but should still have the same sound quality.
If you had any problems or were not satisfied with the sound quality, I suspect (based on my experience with their customer service office) they'd be pretty helpful in terms of addressing these issues. :)
Thank you sounds likes it's worth a try
I would not recommend an Oricom unit at all. I have had issues on 3 different units with them just switching off in the middle of the night, not in the first few months when they're fine, but after you get used to them. If you are relying on them to hear an alarm, well that's not going to work well is it!? I simply could not in all conscience leave this question without commenting On my experience, and highlighting that I am far from the only one with this experience.
Please look somewhere other than Oricom for your needs, a single failure could be really bad for you.
I have got the oricom 510 baby monitor and have had it for 17 months but the screen doesn't work and won't display the temp clearly and the battery keeps going flat very fast. Can someone please help?
The batteries probably need replacing, they are not standard AA size (I bought some rechargeable AA ones from bunnings that didn't fit) so contact oricom to see where you can get some. Or if it's under warranty you can probably send it back to them for repair.
Where can we buy new battery
Hi, I am not sure. We haven't needed to buy a new one yet. Perhaps ask at a baby store where the monitor sold.
It was a present so not sure where they got it from. Can anyone tell me where there unit came from and then I can check. Thanks
In a matter of weeks I will have 2 different babies in 2 different rooms. My partner went out and bought me the Oricom 510 which I have loved using for my daughter but I am concerned about interference/link issues when using 2?
We only have the one monitor at the moment (which is being replaced by oricom) as i am only 5 months pregnant so unfortunately don't know the answer. We haven't had an interference problems with it in general but obviously haven't had another monitor around!
Dear verytiredmummy, You can rest easy because the SC510 functions using DECT, this means that each monitor and parent unit will talk only to its corresponding partner. DECT (Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications) is the most widely used worldwide digital cordless technology, offering amazingly clear sound, long range and maximum voice security.
DECT operates on the 1.8GHz frequency which eliminates potential interference from other common wireless devices such as wireless networks (Wi-Fi), Bluetooth and cordless computer devices.
We wish you the best of luck and energy for the new bub. If you have any further questions or need help with the operation of your monitors you can call our Customer Support Team on 02 4574 8888 or 1300 889 785.
Sincerely, Oricom Baby Care
Just wondering what range/distance do you get with the Oricom 510?
Thanks
I've used the parent unit out in the backyard and the monitor is upstairs at the front of the house, with no troubles for that distance, haven't tried anything further
Hi Shon, in ideal conditions the range of the SC510 is up to 300 meters outdoors and 50m indoors. Please take into consideration the environment the product is used in as different factors can affect the range of the monitor.
