Hi, we have a relatively new oricom sc850. Bought it near new 18 months ago. It has started turning all noise into very loud static, which is really disruptive during the night especially. Do you know if this is an issue with the camera (we only have one connected but do have others so could swap it over), or an issue with the parent device (possibly low battery?)

My other question is - we originally bought a second hand sc850 (that must have been several years old). Unfortunately it died one day and even when we replaced the battery it did not turn back on. Is there any way to fix this old one or has it just stopped working from years of use?

Hello, I spoke to a customer service agent today (I think her name was Janet), she suggested switching Vox off to try to resolve the issue but that hasn’t worked. I have pictures to compare between the two cameras but unsure how to attach to this thread. I will attempt to contact you tomorrow to follow up

Hi there, I’ve had my oricom 850 monitor for 4 years now, and bought it second hand. It has worked fine up until recently. It now doesn’t want to pair with multiple cameras as it had before and beeps every time I turn it back on for the day saying it is out of range. The only way I’ve found to get it to connect is to unplug and replug that particular camera back in. Help please? I don’t know if I need a new monitor or if there is a simple fix I’m missing for these issues? TIA

Hi, my monitor screen is suddenly only showing half a screen of the camera view with the bottom half of my view blacked out. There is nothing blocking the view on the camera, there is an issue with the monitor blacked out or broken. How do I repair this?

How can I removed a paired camera from my Oricom 850? I have paired 3 cameras by accident and only need two. So now when I scroll through them the third camera makes a loud beeping out of range sound because it isn’t in use. Can I remove the third camera?

I have an Oricom 850 monitor. I have just synced two cameras to it. However, if I’m on camera 1 only audio from camera 1 will come through and vice versa for camera 2.

I have two children in different bedrooms is there anyway to ensure sound for both will come through. Scan mode doesn't go into sleep mode from what I can see so that’s not helpful for night time.

Hi Jai, the way the audio works is that it will only come through when that particular camera is visible on the scan cycle. That is because if you had two simultaneous streams of audio coming through two connected monitors, you would not be able to decipher the audio from one to the other. Hope that makes sense. Oricom.

Hi Jai, thanks for the question. What you have described is actually the correct function of the unit. The two streams of audio do not come through simultaneously, rather they will only present when that particular camera is on screen. This is because the 2 streams of simultaneous audio would make it hard to decipher which room it is coming from. Hope that helps, Oricom.

Hi there - if we have 2 cameras setup to one parent unit, will VOX work on both cameras and the parent unit lights up when there is noise from either of the rooms?

Morning Matt, thanks for your message. We don’t recommend VOX turned on when multiple cameras are connected as this could cause issues when you have sound detected from both cameras at the same time.

I have had my oricom baby monitor for about 2 and a half years now but just this week I got a line at the bottom of the screen through the picture. PUSH TO TALK FUNCTION - Hi this button seems to work from time to time only and I am wondering if there is a setting to adjust to make it work again? Hi, i have the oricom sc850 camera and all of a sudden the sound has stopped working. It was working fine earlier today and has been turned off until I need to use it now and I have white noise in both kids rooms but nothing is coming through the speaker on the monitor. How can I fix this? Thanks.

Same problem for us. It cycles in and out of range non-stop all night making the camera almost useless. 99.9% of the time it is in range and it only drops for a split second (but i happens every minute). The alarm that goes off when this happens makes the camera essentially useless, which is a shame.

Have tired power cycling and relinked to all 4 different channels and same issue.

It's disappointing that I came here in the hope to find answers but instead have found Oricom deflecting from issue and requesting owners to call a support team. I hope I'm wrong but I'm guessing this means there is no fix and Oricom just don't want this publicly announced.

Can two oricom 850 parent units run in the same house without clashing?

Have had this monitor for almost 3 years. It does not charge anymore. When I plug it in, it will charge and un charge constantly. I can have it plugged in for days and when I turn it on the battery is red. Seems like the cord is not working possibly. Any help would be great as this isn’t very old.

We have had the Secure 850 for over 2.5yrs, we had the camera replaced June/July 2020 as it failed. About 12 months ago we started getting instances where in the middle of the night it alarms "out of range" power has been cycled many times, when it does it it will happen for a number of nights in a row, mostly we just turn it off and turn it back on in the morning. After a couple of nights it gets back to working. I thought that maybe it was a power issue so have put it on a small UPS supply, but it is still happening. It also seems to be increasing in frequency. We have had enough of the excessive loud beeping in the middle of the night waking us when the child is sleeping soundly, and are looking at our option for replacing the unit. Can Oricom guarantee that this is not an issue on newer models etc?

Hi Oricom When in scan mode with 2 cameras for the Secure 850 model, does the screen go dark when there is no movement from either baby/camera or does the screen consistently stay on while scanning from camera 1 to 2?

Hi there, when in multi camera mode, the SC850 will scan between connected cameras with the screen on, showing the video and audio feed of the camera on screen, before cycling to the next camera. Hope that helps. Oricom
