Ozito Stainless Wet and Dry VWD-1220 (20L) Questions & Answers
VerifiedMPN: VWD-1220Hi my ozito workshop vacuum has stopped, is there a overheating safety cut out on this machine
Is there a washable cartridge filter that suits 20 ltr ozito wet & dry vaccum. Or is there only cloth & foam ?
is there a reset switch/button to use after the Vac overheats and switch off ?
I have purchased the Ozito Wet & Dry Vacuum 1250W 12L. The blower hole is continually blowing air out. It creates a dust cloud in high dust areas. Is there some way to close it off to prevent this? We had another type of vacuum where you could move a slider to close off the hole. No switch or lever on this one, nor is there an attachment to redirect or stop.
The Ozito I had came with a foam and cloth filter that could be fitted around the motor unit and some disposable paper dust bags. The outlet is the exhaust from the motor. If haven’t fitted any filter or you fitted the foam filter and it has since disintegrated, you’ll continue to experience your problem. The paper bag also acts as a filter by containing dust, etc. Bunnings do, or did, sell replacement filters & bags.
I mean that the exhaust is creating the problem. The air comes out with some force as it is a small hole. What I am thinking is to put a piece of pipe in it with a 90 deg bend so the exhaust goes upward, not backward causing the cyclone of dust.
My Ozito was blowing through the exhaust far more strongly than it was sucking, and was very noisy. I returned mine to Bunnings and got a refund.
It blow air and it doesn’t suck. Is there a button to press to suck? It is a vacuum not a blow dryer.
Imagine learning this common problem while trying to suck up water, not fun.
My ozito wet and dry vacuum not sucking
Have you connected your vacuum hose to the correct connection? There’s two connections on them, one for suction & one for blowing.
Is air supposed to come through the blower hole while vacuuming
In a word, Yes.
How do I stop blowing action so I can vacume
There’s two connections on the housing that clips to the dust/ rubbish container, one is for vacuum & the other for blowing (At least there were on my Ozito vacuum). Disconnect the hose from the “blow” side & connect to the other.
Only one on mine, it's started blowing..
Hi…I’ve just purchased the 12lt vac…I am wondering if once the bag inside the “bin” of the vacumn cleaner is full…do you need to purchase a “new bag”..or is there a way of emptying it out ???
Why does my vacuum keep whistling I have to turn it on and off to stop the noise and it can be a pain
How do I fit the dry bag after I have been using the wet sleeve
Why my dry vacuum doesn't suck?
Ozito suction lost, how to fix it
Take it back for a refund or exchange
I have been using the Ozito wet dry vac to suck up water and the foam wet filter has been coming off, falling into the canister and blocking up the drain outlet. Does anyone know a solotion for this?
Better luck than me .... Mine blew.up.in about 5 min
The on/off switch is not powering on. I only dry vac does anyone know why or is the switch stuffed? It was working great no complaints n good value for money however I've only had it five month used it approx 7 or 8 times.
i have the same issue, due to overheating, i fixed it before but i had to open the whole thing and manual reset it...
hi there, has anyone tried using this on wet carpet due to leaks from a balcony door? so it's more than a spill and the carpet is pretty wet. thanks in advance!
Depends on the size and your patience.
If you reset your filters for wet use I don’t see why not.
Thank you sir for the quick response.
how do i change from blow to suck
There are two holes in the top of the machine, one is the suction hole and at the opposite side is a same shape hole and that is where you put the hose for blowing. just disconnect hose from suction side and attach it to the identical hole at the opposite side of machine and away you go.
I’ll give it a shot, I was having the same issue!
I have purchased the Ozito Wet & Dry Vacuum 1250W 12L for carpet cleaning. Do I have to manually wet and clean the carpets first before the wet vacuum cleaner will work ie I manually wet and wash the carpet first and then the wet vacuum simply sucks up the water from the carpet? I was hoping that it had a dual function. Thanks Francine
Hi Fran You came to the right person for advice as I am a carpet cleaner. Wet and dry vacuum cleaners are only meant for sucking up spills and not designed for carpet shampooing. Carpet shampooers distribute the solution evenly over the carpet and you are not over wetting the carpet. Ozito wet and dry machines don't have a solution feed hose or a shampoo wand designed to such the wet dirt from the carpet. If you are soaking your carpet then sucking it out you are possibly over wetting your carpet and in time your carpet will get mould and rot. The Ozito Wet and Dry machines are great for vacuuming and do not have a shampoo wand. You can buy a cheap carpet shampooer that is designed to wash your carpets and use the Ozito for vacuuming only and small spills. The carpet shampooers only clean not meant for vacuuming the dry dirt. You still need two machines for cleaning of carpets. I still use a vacuum for dry dirt removal before using carpet shampooer, I never use a shampooer for dry vacuuming as it can stuff up the machine in time. Hope this helps carpetgenie.com.au
Thank you for this comprehensive answer. Francine
Can I vacuum the car carpets and other wooly surfaces using it??
are spare light blue filter covers available
why water is blown out while vacuuming liquid through the blower nozzle
Did you replace the dry filter with the wet filter? I have not used it for wet yet so I cannot really respond to this. You can call Ozito directly. Their support department is outstanding.
I've used it to suck up water but you need to put the black spongy lil pocket (water filter) bag on first which is where you put the light blue dust filter over the motory part. I've sucked up liquids without it before n got a charming bacteria infested spray, so gross. Careful of the wet filter bag when taking it on or off not to rip it cos it's easily done, especially when wet.
I bought this only for wet vacuuming purpose . So the foam filter (grey) which is meant for wet vacuuming is on it always . Still it blows out water .
