Philips EasyStar FC8802/71 Questions & Answers
VerifiedMPN: FC8802/71how does it open up to get dirt out
The Lid slides back (centre section on the top). The dust canister is in there. The canister lid just lifts off. I suggest looking at a manual online, for other basic functions like that. Just Google the model number and the word manual.
Hi Tracey Thanks for writing and asking about it. New machines are always a puzzle, aren't they? However, this is not complicated, and we are very happy to help you with it here. First, to clean your vacuum's dust container, you just need to: 1-Empty the garbage container, 2- Remove the container filter (if any), 3-Clean the inside of the dust container with a cloth moist (do not put in the dishwasher and do not immerse in water), 4-When the container is completely dry, put the filter back in it and 5-Put the container back in the vacuum. It's also important to mention. The plug must be removed from the outlet before cleaning or servicing the appliance. Would you like to keep your Philips robot in good condition? Check out some tips at this link: external link If you need further assistance with your vacuum cleaner in the future, you can contact our product team directly on 1300 363 391 (Australia) or 0800 658 224 (New Zealand) Monday through Saturday: 7:00am-7:00pm EST. What power adapter lead should this model have please?
The power brick has a 19V DC Output. Mine died years ago, but I got a universal Laptop Charger one, where the voltage can be changed (and comes with round multiple plugs, so one will fit).
Thank you. I’ll try Harvey Norman for a replacement

My robot suddenly stops when working. What can I do?
.
Hi Sneha, Thanks for your question. It's okay for us to presume the reason the robot stops working isn't because of the battery that's empty, right? We hope you still check this. The FC8802/71 can go on for about 50 minutes before the battery runs out and it has to go back to the charging station. Just to give a better idea of the capacity. :)
If this isn't the reason, please reach out to us directly, we'd like to look into this further. You could call us on 1300 391 363 or find us through external link .
Kind regards,
The Philips Australia Team
The recharger only works intermittently. I think the cord has a break in it. Can I buy a replacement cord? It's not listed in spare parts available to purchase. I am in Australia.
I'm not sure if there are any spare parts available for this model as it was discontinued. See if you can use a cord from another model before you buy. I bought a new battery which cost me $55.00 in no vain as it wasn't battery problem - waste of my money!

how to open the dust container?
Slide the top back
It is quite a chore and requires pressing down quite firmly on the section with the raised little raised 'ripples' with the palm of your hand and sliding the lid towards the back at the same time! Takes a bit of practice to disengage the little plastic locking clips under the lid.
Hello Michelle,
Please follow the steps via the following link to open and clean the dust container: external link

Hi Michele. I did a quick online search but pretty much came up blank. The Phillips website suggests you call them. 1300 363 391
Hi Michele, I did receive some replacement brushes by contacting Phillips customer care. Even though they are no longer bringing these units in, you can get some parts on back order. Good luck and I truly hope you are successful. PS: when operating mine scares the he'll out of my wife's rabbit!

Michele, I have a model exactly the same but the battery needs replacing (plus I don't really use it anymore) You are welcome to have it for parts. There is also a spare brush that has never been used. Kate.
How do I reset /or get the warning light to go off? it won't recharge
Hi There, I suspect one of two things has occurred? a) The battery has failed in which case it will need to be replaced. b) You will need to remove the battery cover and disconnect the battery for around 2 x minutes and then reconnect and see if it will take a charge. Cheers.
Hi Nic, thank you for reaching out to us with this question. I have lost my charger , where can I buy one in am in spain , can I use any other chargers does it have to be Phillips?
Hi Maria, Unfortunately, we don't have support contact details in Spain. Before buying a new charger, you need to check the actual machine voltage. If the machine has 100-240V, it means that the unit itself has a universal voltage feature. You have an option to buy a non-Philips adapter but you have to be sure that the following details are present on the adapter:
1. 100-240V
2. Input 50/60Hz 1.0A Max
3. Outout: 24V /1.0A
4. Pin is correct (youmight need to bring the actual unit to the store for testing)

does this vacuum robot return to base when the battery is low?
No. It beeps for about 30mins so you can find it.
Hi May, this Philips robot vacuum cleaner model FC8802/71 does not return to its base when the battery is low. The one that you are referring to is the upcoming model which is the Philips SmartPro compact robot vacuum cleaner model FC8700.
Hi I would like the price on a charger for the Phillips easy star robotic tile vacuum. Rang the 1300 etc no help had no idea , can you please email me also where I. an purchase it ? Regards V Horvath

Hi , I have had my easystar vacuum for just under 12 months , the. Battery has stopped charging . Can u pls tell me where I will get another one for the ? Other than the battery I like this product, thank you Lorraine Carrara, Gold Coast, Queensland. Australia
Dear Lorraine, Batteries can be purchased from our National Spare Parts Distributor. The can be contacted on 1300 363 391 (Option 7)
How long does batter last I read that some people said it only lasted 12 months ? They have 2 year warranty so if batter is no good after 12 months is it covered under warranty to get new one thanks Belinda
Hi Belinda, We can never predict the lifespan on an electronic device. All the appliances will last if proper maintenance of the machines are followed. For all vacuum cleaners, if the product fails within 2 years resulting to manufacturing defect, you can return this to the store and discuss the warranty policy. For any further assistance, please feel free to contact us on 1300 363 391.
Kind Regards,
The Philips Australia Team
Does the Philips EasyStar Robot Vacuum Cleaner return to its charger when it needs to be recharged or do you have to reconnect it?
Regards
Bronwin
Dear Bronwin, the Philips Easystar has infrared sensors help it move by itself avoiding stairs and edges but the vac will not return to its base. You will need to reconnect the unit to charge it.

How does the philips fc8802 cope with pet hair?
Hi Lorraine Thank you for your enquiry. Dealing with pet hair is no problem for the Philips EasyStar Vacuum Cleaner. Please note however, when vacuuming large amounts and/or long pet hair, the EasyStar needs to be cleaned more often.
Hope this helps.
Kind regards
The Philips Australia Team
My vac is now in my parents granny flat dealing with their moggy's fur and is doing ok. It previously dealt with my shorthaired Sharpidoor's fur as well. As I said in my review I did glue a small piece of plastic (20mmx50mm) to the filter to deflect the hair away from the inlet hole. Otherwise it builds up there pretty quickly and it prevents more fur from entering the collection bin.
Does this vacuum clean carpet as well? Thanks
Hi Annie
Unfortunately the Philips EasyStar is suitable for floor boards and tiles only. To view our range of Philips Floor care including vacuums suitable for carpet, please visit external link .
Kind regards
