Philips PerfectCare 7000 Series Steam Generator PSG7130/20 Questions & Answers
VerifiedMPNs: 17011 and PSG7130/20Just purchased the Philips PerfectCare 7000 Series Steam Generator PSG7130/20 few months ago and everytime I use it my ironing board is wet where I have placed the whole unit. Steam seems to be coming out from underneath the unit. I rang Phillips but got some person from a call centre in the Philippines who did not know much of anything and kept putting me on hold. I don't think this is normal. My ironing board will get mouldly at this rate. Otherwise it irons well and steam is generated to the iron. Do I need to return the iron? Please help.
Hi Anna, Thank you for sharing this. We're sorry to hear that you're facing this issue with your steam generator and that you haven't received proper assistance thus far. If you're noticing water on the ironing board and underneath the ironing board, this could be due to a couple of reasons. First, it's possible that your ironing board cover has worn out - When the foam or felt in your ironing board cover has worn out, this might cause condensation drips. To solve this, you can simply replace your ironing board cover. You can also add an extra layer of material under the ironing board cover to prevent condensation on the ironing board. Next, normal condensation from the high output of steam may cause drips of water, especially after a long ironing cycle. If your iron has an Eco mode available, using this can help you to lower the rate at which your iron will produce steam. We hope these tips are applicable to you, but if not...

I have already explained this but no ones seems to understand what I am saying. Its nothing to do with my ironing board which is fine. The moisture is coming out of the steam unit not the iron (the bit that the iron sits on). The steam from the iron that irons the clothes is fine. I have emptied the water from both the tank and the descale tank and will try it again. But there is definitely a lot of moisture coming out of the bottom unit underneath where there are some holes. If this is normal then that is not very good at all.

Unfortunately, when I went to use the iron again yesterday, the unit was just flashing i.e. there was power to it but it would not turn on or start to heat up. Tried everything, emptied the water tank and replaced, emptied the descale part of water. Have now returned it to the store where I purchased the iron for a full refund. Kitchen Warehouse were excellent. They will be returning the product to Phillips no doubt. Very disappointed as this would have been a great iron if it worked!
