VerifiedI have had this iron a few years, and it has been great however lately it seems to stop working after a few minutes. It turns on, pumps water, steams away happily then it just stops.
The trigger does nothing and there are no noises when you click it (other than the sound of the switch itself) and you can still hear the boiler heating the water up
Any suggestions? I really don't want to have to buy another iron after only a few years.
Hi My steam generator iron GC8600. When I do ironing, water dripping from De Calc place. I tried with rubber wicer but still dripping.please advice me what to do to solve this problem
HI there, decalc light is on on my iron but when I take the knob out, no water flows out but tank is full, what do I do?
With respect I do not think you answered the question. Please advise how I can clean black mould spots in the water tank of the Aqua Care Ohilios steam station. I have tried putting vinegar and water to cover the mould but it does not work. Could I put exit mould into the tank or bleach to kill and remove the spots of black. Thank you
Hi Kay, thanks for reaching out. Unfortunately it is not possible to use any detergent, let alone bleach inside the tank. You could try to rub it off with close. Unfortunately mould can only be avoided by keeping the area as dry as possible after use.

I have a philips aqua care steamer which I bought in December 2018. Every so often after a decalc it starts to leak water. The first two times it happened while under warranty, I called philips they suggested somethings which seemed to address the issue and no more leaks. When I take it back to the shop they were never able to replicate the leaks. Now is 3.5 years old and same thing happened.. looks like pressure escaping from decalc plug. Solution from philips technical works but this shouldn’t happen and when I ask Philips for resolution the answer is to buy a new unit! Honestly in Australia we have consumer law… and sounds like Philips want customers to submit a claim under ACL rather than honouring that some products are a lemon

After using the Decalc function, it is normal for some drops of water to come out of the soleplate afterwards. So nothing to worry about. Also make sure that you don't use perfumed water with the steamer!

Hi I’ve always use distilled water. It’s not a few drops but gushes out. Your team offered to let me purchase a new unit from goodwill of philips coz the unit is out of warranty. The purchase price of 1/2 price was about the same as retail in shops!!
I’m now reaching out to ACCC to see what’s the options under Australian Consumer Law given this is a $400 iron that’s failed at around 3 years old after many issues in those intervening three years!
So far Philips, your words have been many but actual customer service isn’t good! I would give 0 stars if I could!

Am very happy with GC8600. The water tank is moulding green. How to clear it. Please advise.

Hi Dianaoo, Thanks for your message and reaching out to us regarding your Philips steam generator iron. We are sorry to hear that you have also have the same problem of mould appearing in the water tank and are more than happy to help you further with the issue. Could you descale the iron by following these steps: (If your water is very hard, increase the descaling frequency). To avoid the risk of burns, unplug the iron and let it cool down for at least two hours before you perform the descaling procedure, and when you perform the descaling procedure, place the appliance on the edge of the table top or near the sink, as water may flow out of the appliance when the EASY DE-CALC knob is opened. 1. Hold a cup (with a capacity of at least 350 ml) under the EASY DE-CALC knob and turn the knob anti-clockwise. 2. Remove the EASY DE-CALC knob and let the water with scale particles flow into the cup. 3. When no more water comes out of the appliance, reinsert the EASY DE-CALC knob and tighten it.

Hi, How can I unclog the holes (steam vents) of my Perfectcare Aqua Silence GC8650 on the sole plate. While the outermost steam vents towards the left and right edges look through and through empty, all the inner ones look filled up and closed. Is this normal? And why would some holes look like brand new empty, while other are all closed up? Please advise. Thanks.
My perfect care elite has stopped making steam. I have descaled, there is water in the tank and I have waited until it heats up and the blue light turns off. I can hear a pumping sound and the blue light flashes but nothing comes out. Any ideas how to fix/ Patricia

Hi, our Philips PerfectCare Aqua iron steamer just stopped working a few days ago. It turns on fine but does not release any steam even when pressing the steam button. It normally makes that 'pump' noise but not this time. It just sits there quietly. We only use demineralised water hoping it will last longer than our -previous one. I have also done the decal and the water appeared clean. I'm guessing the pump is gone. Can you please advise what the issue may be, estimated repair cost and where the nearest service service? I reside in North Sydney area. I believe it's no longer under warranty. Thanks.

Why is my descale button flashing on and off

This helps to prolong the lifetime of the appliance and optimise the ironing performance. How to clean the water tank that has built up mold. Wife left water in the tank to long. Can I use white vinegar and distilled water with out using the iron?
Thanks for your question here. Generally, we do not recommend putting vinegar inside the water tank. For this, we recommend descaling the appliance. You can do so by filling the water tank with 500ml distilled water and tighten the EASY DE-CALC knob. Press the on/off button to switch on the steam generator and wait for 5 minutes. Then, press the steam trigger and keep it pressed while you iron a piece of thick cloth in a back-and-forth motion for 3 minutes. You can stop cleaning when no more water comes out of the soleplate or when steam starts coming out of the soleplate. Press the on/off button to switch off the steam generator. Let the steam generator cool down for 2 hours. Remove the EASY DE-CALC knob and let the water flow into a cup.

my GC8600 is 4 years old all was fine till couple of days ago , when i switch it on it generates steam but all steam escapes from the decal knob even though the knob is tightly screwed please help?

I've had my iron for 7 years now.. been fantastic for me... today the steam stopped coming out.. I turned it off and after 1 hour I turned it on.. waited and the iron was perfect.. after 1 piece of clothing it stopped steaming... help!
Had a similar issue - mine was that the water dispenser was not properly seated on the seal took it out and refitted and started again with no issues
