We did the upgrade a few years ago. 20 years is very old for the system and I suggest this is normal maintenance/upkeep.

if you are going to reply then reply to the statement about their loyalty program. as stated we were with them 20 years and never offered us any deals or new upgrades, maintenance /upkeep ?? then why was this not done a long time ago? I want to hear from PURA TAP not randoms

I was told the same thing and then ended up with $8,000 worth of damage because the guy that put it in didn't do the right thing and it's not a qualified plumber so if you're asked my opinion don't bother get a professional plumber get them to have a look at it I've actually got rid of pure tap completely now and I'm taking it out of work as well and getting another company to do the filters he my opinion they do not back up what they preach

In my experience with Puratap l would not deal with them at all. I don't believe its value for money. I put my own in and change my filter myself. Get a plumber or even a handy man who knows what their doing because it's not rocket science.

Hi Winnie, The Puratap housing/unit comes with a 10 year warranty. As your unit/housing is now 14 years old, well outside it's warranty period we would certainly encourage upgrading. Only used it cause it was already there. When we had our kitchen redone the plumber installed a mixer tap to get rid of the old Puratap, and then installed a dual filter unit I bought that Bunnings sell. Just replaced one of the filters from Bunnings. Easy job as the removal tool comes with the unit. Mix of filters you can get that do different jobs. Was getting sick of Puratap crimping on replacement time and upping price. last time was 9-10 months not a year and we are in a duplex and not big users so a waste.

It was $430 installed. For one l wished l had never been involved with Puratap and don't ever want to again.

I think the replacement charge includes everything. You might be able to replace the filter yourself but Puratap probably wouldn’t honour any warranties if something was to break or leak.

I can only replace the filter myself if Puratap sell me a new filter. Puratap are probably the only ones that can answer this question, so I'll await their response, unless anyone else has purchased replacement filters and changed themselves, so therefore know from personal experience.

Hi Steve, normally Puratap contact me each year to arrange a filter change and let me know when they are in my area. If you have not heard from them, then I would give them a call. They will be able to arrange it for you

Hi Steve, Thanks for the question. As Mum knows best has mentioned, we do normally call you to organise your filter change. Sometimes we have trouble getting in touch though (people move house, or change their phone numbers etc). Most definetly,first see what the call centre has to say and ask to speak to one of there technical staff,I've had mine for 12 yrs or so and have never had any smell or problem with the water,sometimes I leave the filter change for 15months or more and never have any water quality issues,just get annoyed with them ringing every two weeks till I get them changed.

Never had smell problems ,but good luck getting a return call. Many times i had to ring back and always got a LOVERLY appology but still hard to get a return call. I threw mine in the rubbish bin and bought a Steffani two cylinder one from Bunnings ,and cost less than their replacement fee,and same fittings so no plumber needed.

Hi Jessica, Thanks for your question. Yes, definitely please give the office another call (on 133 502). There is no such thing as too many times to call us! We want to make sure you get the most use out of it and obviously that isn't going to happen while it smells funny!
