You use it in the washing machine

It works all by itself, it is not an additive. Normal detergent have flourescors to "whiten and brighten". You do not need this in black clothing so just use the Black Wash alone without usual detergent

My bottle is old and still seems to work well.

I am not sure, however I find it very gentle but still an effective cleaner and have washed my black stretchy jeans and winter tights with it for many years and have never noticed it degrading the elastic

Hi Greg :) The Radiant Black wash has no enzymes or optical brighteners in it making it very gentle and fit for purpose. I have used it on whites on 40-60 degrees and they came out beautiful and fresh and bright. On lower temperatures I found my whites "yellowing" and not looking the best. I'd definitely recommend the SARD WONDER Ultra Whitening soak ( the gold standard - blasts other competitor products ) I would suggest start using it together when you find that the whites not being so white. I came here to ask a similar question though ,as washing liquids use similar ingredients so it's less likely to harm your clothes however, if you're still concerned perhaps you should consider contacting the cussons careline which should be listed on the container or possibly try getting the number from directory assistance.

I bought my radiant black wash in the Woolworths supermarket though, I'm pretty sure I seen the product on the coles supermarket shelves as well.
