We have had our Samsung SRF619DLS for ten years and I would have to say it is the worst experience with a fridge we have ever had. After about a year and a half the ice maker stopped working and over the last 2 years it has been leaking water. My husband turned off the water tap about a year and a half ago but it is still leaking water. He has now turned off the ice maker completely. Should that fix the problem?

Quick question. We purchased our fridge in 2021 and have had no issues. I regularly change the filter however have noticed the the ice maker/water dispenser was dripping water. Recently i have noticed that the ice-maker hasn’t been making ice very well. I did another filter change, reset the ice-maker and made sure no ice had built up. Now my ice-maker has stopped producing ice and is making a grinding noise. I have also noticed the the fridge is not very cold. Is this a known issue ?

Samsung know its an issue and just keep on ignoring it I had my ice maker tried to be fixed 3 times but to no avail eventually they said they would refund me but the process would take aproximatley up to 30 days so I went back to my retailer and got it swopped over for an LG one.They should really do a recall on it if they had any credibilty.

Usually discontinued product may not be found in retailers but I would suggest reaching out to your nearest retailer and ask. Sometimes stores keep limited stock for clearance. I would suggest surfing the web with reputable online sellers.

When will Samsung admit that there is an inherit problem with the icemaker and look to refund the owner for a design that is clearly defective and as such covered under Australian consumer protection laws? Fridge is on second replacement for icemaker and from all feedback seen so far, expect it will need to be replaced again. There is also a class action in the US for the same (and other) issue(s).

Not interested in taking this offline, just wanting an honest and open response from Samsung to the question above so that people who take time to research this fridge can be well informed - I wish that it was there before I purchased the fridge.

Can an Adelaide-based technician please contact me? Same problem as most - the ice-maker. It suddenly stopped working and we can't remove the drawer. We are two oldies - I can't believe I found this site - and only use the ice-maker for a few ice-blocks blocks on average 3-4 times a week. We've had the fridge for 4-5 years, so I thought it was just bad luck, until I read everyone else's reviews. Obviously we're now out of warranty. This is not a cheap fridge. We bought on impulse and didn't research. Dumbos!!! Thank you.

Hello Kath. I ended up ringing the 1300 number. The call was very quick; the Adelaide/Keswick service centre came out and fixed the issue. 2 weeks from go to whoa. Plus even although we were out of warranty, because it was a recurring issue with that fridge, the job was done gratis. Quick phonecall; and very quick fix and regarded as a munufacturing problem. Essentially, one major fault or several smaller faults that would have stopped you buying it had you known, and you are entitled to a full refund! 2. Samsung are masters at ignoring claims. Deal with the retailer, they HAVE TO assist you. Yes, even after 7 years. They will just be a middle man but will they will help get the responses from Samsung. This fridge should last 12-15 years! 3. If required, gather all information and lodge a complaint to Consumer Protection agency in your state against the RETAILER, not Samsung.

My Samsung srf719 has the same ice-maker issues - has never worked. I gave up years ago defrosting and re-setting it. What is the best way to get some satisfaction from Samsung? No issues with the rest of the fridge, works well!

The ice maker was our first issue, within the “manufacturer warranty”. after troubleshooting with Samsung on the phone they arranged for a technician to come out to repair it. The tech told us it was a known issue with this model. That seemed to fix it. Although, when we started having cooling issues with the freezer, the issues the next tech found make me wonder if some of that damage was done by the first tech while repairing the ice maker. For that, I had to call Samsung, their service agent and the store I bought it from repeatedly and remind them of my rights to remedy of a major fault and their obligations under consumer law. Most of them don’t actually understand any of it but eventually you get someone who recognises some of it and might help

Samsung you must know by now this model fridge is a piece of -rap. The issue are wth ice maker and fridge stops cooling in every threat I’ve read..So could you please tell me the solution to why it stops cooling. rober i have 2 of this seriesof fridge the719 in the garage tha the 906 litre in the kitchen. Well they are not perfect like the old friges of the past, that you could get 30 years out of, they stil not bad.

Issues yes 3 major problems but iti is more of Australian climate adapation issues.

Samsung has in its wisdom has located fragile eletronics sub board inside the ice maker. The water and ice crystals grow ripping the wires off the sub board and motors over time and defrost cycles. It is and easy fix but it is fiddly.

Both the ice maker and fridge suffer from poor sealing leading to frostbuild up. again an easy fix but you have spent a lot of money on a fridge and most people dont want to pull the units apart.

I find the tech's just want to replace parts not fix the issuses as time is money i can under stand this.

if you need any helpon these unit let me know. the hardest thing to do is reskin a door. If you like doing your own repairs.I brougt the 719 seconf hand for under $1200 and spent $ 100 on parts including a new icemaker and I;m sitting on $3k fridge. the interesting point is the power used by the 719 and 906 together is less than my old 800 liter top mount and 150 litre bar fridge.

please note these fridge where never advisted as having "chilled" water....just filtered.

My led light at the water/ ice dispenser keeps turn on. Usually it automatically turn off once we finish to use the ice or water. But tonight it keeps light on! Please help

Wondering why we can’t get the ice bucket off. We’re pushing up from the bottom and trying to pull straight out but it won’t move.

It is iced in. Until some of the ice melts it won’t be going anywhere. Try a hairdryer around the edges. Keep going till it starts to give. A little jiggle helps.

If you’ve started having the ice maker problem you’re eventually going to have to get it replaced. Get onto Samsung, worked for me.

What temperature should the fridge and the freezer be set at. Also how do I reset the filter icon as I’ve just replaced the filter and the filter icon is still red

The temperature of the freezer can be set at between -23 and -15 deg C and the fridge between +1 and +7 deg C. Our fridge operates well at +3 deg C and the freezer -19 deg C. To reset the water filter icon just touch the "Crushed/Hold 3 sec for Filter Reset" for at least three seconds. The indicator then changes from red to off. The details are in the user manual under "Changing the Water Filter".

I found the water in my fridge line to be nice and cold. I never had issues with water dispenser. Ice maker was my fault in fridge.

Hi Brad our ice machine works fine slow tho but cannot complain about, but the water isn't as cold as I would like it to be. The jugs in the fridge a way colder.

I'm looking at buying a new fridge. I really love the layout of this unit. However, I'm afraid that the door finish on the edges will peel off over time. There is also a review about this. Is there another fridge that doesn't have chrome-plated door edges but has this layout?

Check LG & Fisher&paykel. The finish did start to peel on my Samsung and after quite some time I managed to get the door replaced however have been led to believe it will happen again...and I have noticed some issues on one of the other doors. Shame considering the cost of the fridge.

I never used any chemicals just a damp soft cloth but unfortunately as reported the finish started to peel. You got lucky as I am led to believe it is a common problem

Hi we have an issue with the ice maker. It will not stop producing ice. Once the ice bucket is full the ice jams between the wall and the ice maker as a consequence we have to empty the ice bucket once a day.
