VerifiedHi Our freezer section keeps icing up on our SRF 639GDLS fridge/freezer. Model code rfg23desl1/xsa Serial number w38343ah100239p We turn it off for a day let the ice melt then turn it back on, it last about a month then ices up again. Please advise how to solve the issue. Thanks James
Unfortunately it sounds like the thermostat is faulty or the compressor which are both costly to replace unless you are handy with doing things yourself? We replaced the ice maker component ourselves just by finding the part online. If you contact Samsung and push you may be able to get either the part or labour free but be warned they will keep refusing unless you are very straight and in tune with your rights as a consumer Just keep quoting that the fridge isn’t fit for use and should be lasting longer then ???? Years etc ….. good luck

My Samsung 639GDSS - S/N178442BC500486 Z - is leaking a gradual but steady stream of water from the bottom right hand side as I look at the fridge. Can someone advise whether this is because it needs defrosting? or is it a fault
The fridge doesn’t need defrosting- it’s frost free so will never need that. If it is leaking then you need to contact Samsung directly - sounds like whatever you have in the freezer will also need to be thrown out if the temp is not what it should be

88 88 comes up fridg not working
Hey joe, If the fridge display is showing 88 88 (all eights) and is still cooling properly, then unplug the refrigerator for 60 seconds and then plug it back in. If the display does not return to normal after 2 minutes, then contact an authorized Samsung service center or your Retailer.

If it’s under the deli section pull out drawer then it need a service call out as the part itself is faulty - they will come out free of charge after you really dig your heels in!
My Icemaker has stopped working. There is water coming out of the cold water dispenser but the icemaker has just stopped making ice. I am in the midst of defrosting the freezer by turning it off for a few days in the hope it is just a frozen line. Any other suggestions ?

I wouldn't , chances are you will have no end of trouble with this fridge, and Samsung will offer little service.
Same I wouldn't take a chance on samsung appliances. My ice maker stopped working a couple of weeks ago. That is on top of the loud noise from the compressor that started at the end of last year. Fridge is under 5 years old. More than 1000 dollars to fix on a $3000 Fridge. Stick with LG, Westinghouse. Be warned samsung are a bad appliance.
When I replace the filter, the old filter looks dry. Seems that the water does not go through the filter. why?

Food stored in the fridge area of my Samsung fridge freezer (SRF 639 GDSS) is starting to freeze up. I have set the fridge temperature at the maximum (7 degrees) but it is continuing to happen. Is there an easy fix for this.

Have a Samsung SRF639GDLS 639l French Door Fridge freezer with icemaker purchased in 2013 As of four days ago the freezer has stopped working and the no ice. The freezer is cool but not freezing This is very disappointing as this was not a cheap fridge and would have expected it to last longer that 7 years There were no noises or problems before it stopped working - has anybody got any ideas on the problem or have they had similar issues

This is exactly our problem, same age of fridge and same issue with ice maker and now freezer, have lost hundreds of dollars of food in the freezer, very unhappy.
Our fridge has had multiple issues since we purchased it. Repaired three times in 2013 for the freezer door and handle. We had an issue with ice under the deli drawer - the customer service said to change the temperature (this didn't fix it), they refused to fix it. We have now had water pooling again under the deli drawer - customer service again says to change temperature. I did this, and the motor has since blown. All this for a fridge that was purchased in September 2011. I'd expect a fridge to last longer than 9 years. I thought I purchased an items from a reputable company - this is not the case. This has been an awful fridge with many faults that Samsung is aware of, but refuses to fix. This fridge has always been a lemon. How do I get Samsung to respond to me and fix my fridge under the Statutory Warranty that ACCC would enforce?

Seriously, Samsung only make decent TV , fridges , dryers , washing machine . Spend a bit more and buy reputable brands

There is a huge amount of water leaking out of the filter. Water went everywhere when we try to fill our glass. We stopped the water but it is still leaking.

Hi we bought our fridge new in 2015 but since yesterday it is causing power overload. Every time we turn it on, the power supplies for our house will be cut off not straight away but within the next 5 to 10 minutes. Exactly what happened to me today. Every 10-15mins the fuses trip. I also bought the fridge in 2015.

My Samsung srf639gdss makes a pigeon like noise at times. I am getting worried about it. Wondering if anyone knows what causes it and how to fix it
Hi Imelda, I dont know how long you have had your fridge, but Samsung dont make these anymore. Get it looked at if still under warranty or else call them ASAP. We had the same thing happen, the noise got louder and we waited to get a technician out. See my review on this same dodgy fridge. Interestingly, when the delivery guy bought out our new fridge (not a Samsung) and took the dead Samsung one away, he said Samsung fridges were the most common fridges he replaced. Be aware and be savvy and if possible, my advice is to NEVER BUY A SAMSUNG FRIDGE AGAIN.
