My pillow arrived today but the smell is overwhelming. Do I need to air it out first before using

Hi Bev, Thanks for reaching out! Leisa is absolutely right, airing out the foams can help to dissipate any smells from the packaging. You may also opt to speed out this process by washing its covers, as bedding can often hold any smells more than the foam.

This can be done in a cold, gentle wash and then air-dried out of direct sunlight - just remember the foams can't be washed.

Let us know if anything further comes to mind! SDHQ

I have just had the pillows delivered today and the smell is quite extreme, is this normal and is safe to sleep on?

Hi there, Thanks for your question about the pillow! We're sorry to hear you're experiencing an issue with a smell. Some people do find the pillow to have a bit of an initial smell, the severity of which can depend on how sensitive you are to smells. This is quite normal, as it is brand new foam.

It is completely non-toxic, and will dissipate over the next few days and weeks.

To help speed up the process we often recommend removing the pillow case and protecter, and airing it in well ventilated room during the day. Also, washing the pillow case regularly will help, as the smell can linger there.

Keep in mind the pillow also comes with a 100 night guarantee! So whether you still find this odour an issue, or it's just not the right pillow for you, you can absolutely return it for a full refund during this time.

We hope this helps! Please don't hesitate to get in touch with our team if your have any further questions or concerns.

Kind regards, Team Sleeping Duck

Thanks for your reply, I slept on it and it didn't affect my sleep but will air out today. Had a great sleep last night with new pillow and mattress so hopefully this continues!

I have a mattress, are the return conditions the same for a pillow?

Yes, I believe it's 100 day return on the pillow. I trialed the pillow & ended up getting morning headaches around the 80 day mark & contacted them for a return. Pillow is a bit short for me. Contact them within the 100 days, keep your box & they'll send you a label to print & then you simply attach the label to the box with the pillow inside & send at the post office.
