Hi all, I'm in Australia and unable to find a 110/80/12 front tyre for my 2014 Sym VS150S. I'm wondering if I can use a 110/90/12 instead. any thoughts would be appreciated.
I have a large gy6 style .motor. I was told it was a 250cc maybe 300cc? Below the cvt cover where engine imprint code is, it has MH708000. There is a SYM on the side of the valve cover. I can't find any other identifying marks on it. Can anyone help???
Hi I have just bought a second hand SYM VS125 from 2008. It starts just fine but when I pull back the throttle fully it gets good acceleration and then just seems to very slowly climb, I haven’t had it over 60kph. I might be a little heavy (100kgs) and used to more powerful bikes but is this normal? Can anyone relate? Thanks
It might be a partially clogged fuel filter. I had a similar problem with a second hand VS150. It would go full throttle for about two minutes, but then it dropped back to 60kph. After waiting a few minutes it would do the same thing. The carb bowl was running dry because not enough fuel was passing through the filter for full throttle.
i have a sym vs 150 2014 the two small lights above the head lights dont work should they they have power going to them but the lights dont work
I have a 2014 and mine never worked. There are videos of them working so who knows? Perhaps other models used the same part.
is the Engine on a VS150 a GY6 motor and what does the Starter Clutch look like on a 2010 VS 150
Well, it's a GY6 style engine but there are many variants with subtle differences. You have long and short case engines, A and B type, 125cc and 150cc, 2 valve and 4 valve, carburettor and fuel injected, air and water cooled types. I have two SYM scooters. A 125cc Orbit that has the swingarm pivot lugs cast on the bottom of the crankcases and a SYM VS150 that has them cast on the top and yet I'm assured they are both GY6 engines. The enthusiasts on You Tube seem able to pick one from another but for the average owner it's as confusing as all get out.

My vs150 sym wont start it was makeing a ticking noise up above the NEW battery behind the cover when trying to start but that has stopped also. Is it the relay ?

Sym vs 125 2010 , bad light switch,lights go out completly when i puton highest light.When i switch back to normal lights,all out. But from lights out, to put it on normal lights on. No problem. I have another vs125, same, 2y older. Can i just pull the light swith button (left side) on steeringwheel out,or do i open steeringwheel first ?
Does anyone know what's the yellow colored lock /unlock button under the seat ?
It's a kill switch....when in the on position the scooter will not start.
It's a security switch. Scooter will only run in the unlock position.
My sym125 symphony sr was driving fine wen i stopped it switched off an now there no lights at all on dash, what could be wrong?

My SYM was air cooled. Therefore does not require any coolant.
My Excel 2 150 cruises well in a straight line and is supremely comfy but cornering, it's a pig! It's a very peculiar feeling as either wants to fall over on a corner, you have to be brave and throw it in from your waist down and actually turn the bars into the bend. To come out of the corner alive you have to pull the opposite handlebar to keep it from going into a circle and falling over, most odd compared to our other scooters we own. The wheelbase being short with weight over the front wheels may have something to do with it but all in all i will reluctantly have to sell it as it just dangerous. I'm considering a tyre change but not sure if it will remedy it. Anyone have the same cornering sensations as me & a remedy? It's a lovely clean bike for our shop runs so i'd prefer to cure & keep it.
I have had a problem of headlights of my vs 125, a mechanic told me it's because of relay so I paid 115 (85 for relay, 30 for assess) he gave me a used one from their store because of the new one will be received in a week. here is thing, the used one was broken again in my third day, then I got a new one from my dad mail to me so a mechanic put a new one in my scooter, now it didn't work again in two days!!!! Actually, it suddenly turned down when I riding on the road. it's so dangerous!!
does anyone know how come it happened? and how do I fix it?
a mechanic said it would cost a lot of money for that($500~1000) because he have to check whole electric system.

In the black plastic compartment on the right hand side below seat. It's half hidden by the body panel.
Is this a liquid coolant or air cooler

Air filter is house beside the back wheel on left hand side.no need to change/replace unless your doing dirt roads
