Tefal Ultimate Autoclean FV9540 Questions & Answers
VerifiedThis iron has burned its fuse & shut down the electricity in the whole house. Are there instructions to fix it?
Why does the Tefel leak water when you refil it?
I think the problem relates to how you fill it. Most irons you fill from the front or the top but this one you fill from the back and it is really hard to see when you over fill it. I just find it badly designed, although wwe have gotten used to it.
My iron was always filled correctly. Power off, front end down in the upright position and was never overfilled. The mark relating to the level is easily seen and I may add the circular lid was always fully closed. The water leaks out through the properly closed lid. Right from the start I told my wife that this iron was probably designed by someone (probably a man) who has never ironed. I have been doing my own washing, ironing for the past 55 years (including 6 years in the Navy) so believe me I know how to use an iron. Sometimes that saying that you get what you pay for does not always ring true. For all those that love this iron I still hope its giving good service in 12 to 18 months from now---just as mine did.
How do you descale this model of iron?? I'm having the same problem an CANNOT work out how to do it! THANKS
Hi, Sorry I am unable to help. I threw out instruction form..With previous irons I have just used weak wihite vinegar and water and flushed it through. I have discovered there is a lock near the water chamber that is broken so it flops open and let's the water fall out. I will need to buy new iron.
Not sure I've had your problem, and I've never descaled my iron! Isn't it supposed to be auto cleaning? I know you can do it though. I just had a look at my iron and you can remove this part which allows u to clean the insides (?) you grab the red plastic frame around the steam on off switch and pull up.
Good luck with the next part...
In the past if i get clogging i just turn it on high steam and steam the [censored word removed] out of my iron till all the bits stop coming out of the holes.
