Is there another option for warranty on a Ziegler and brown BBQ for rust issues? After 4 years only the hood has rusted badly and seems to be a preparation issue under the coating and is rusting from underneath the coating. The rest of the BBQ is fine just the hood is the issue and BBQ Galore have refused warranty as they deem it to be an environmental or maintenance issue. The BBQ has been well looked after and under cover in the alfresco with a cover and gets used frequently and cleaned well. Is it best to go to consumer affairs instead as there product support has been appalling?
Ziegler and Brown defer to BBQs Galore who now state there is no warranty for rust - which is not correct. They also try the argument about conditions. I pushed hard and they agreed eventually to replace the unit - then tried to back out again - but finally did replace the BBQ.
