How can I get more heat from my Z & B Turbo Elite BBQ burners? I've had it converted to natural gas. When I purchased it the salesman from BBQ's Galore told me to light the burners, close the hood and wait for it to really heat up. Have done this but doesn't make much difference. Steak still takes ages to cook and I don't get the smoky bbq taste that I used to get from my 30 year old bbq with volcanic rocks that only took minutes to cook.

Do you have all four burners on? We have our connected to gas bottles and don’t have an issue with the heat when all four are on. If you have your natural gas connected in maybe the flow is too low? If you can’t adjust the flow I’d suggest just having the grills on, lid down to heat up the bbq then go from there to get sizzling hot grills for your steaks.

Thanks Caz. Someone told me natural flow maybe too low and that bottled gas was better, but gas plumber advised should be no real difference once new jets were installed. We only cook steak on the grills and I've lit up 3 burners with lid down to try and heat up, but I'll try 4 and leave a bit longer. I guess I'll keep trying.

Hi there steve. Onthe 6 burner model with side burner, I have drawers under the left and the door into the gas bottle door on right then another drawer under the non burner "wing" on the side. The burner on the left hangs down to mirror the right but due to the pipes has no drawer. Not sure about the 4 burner. You could do an image comparison on the web. Hope that helps
