Hi Jason I am a panel beater by trade and have used many different welders over 34 years This machine is good for panel work, sheet metal, 3mm chassis work or thicker plate. So far l have used 4 x 15kgs wire rolls with this machine and its still working the same as the day l bought it new This machine will do really good continues welds of thicker steal or spot welding thin panel steal

Can this do Aluminum? Is there an A/C setting for one of these considering it is an inverter?

Yes but you'll need a spool gun.

Yes, as mentioned, you can weld aluminium with a spool gun (Part No PLSP240A). It is a DC only machine.

I have a unimig workshop series 270 unit Can I use this machine as a simple stick welder

Hi Stan, the Workshop series machines only do MIG welding. This is because they use transformers, unlike an inverter machine which can do multi-process.

You need AC power not DC to be able to weld aluminium. DC power simply will not work for aluminium.

Yes you need AC power to "TIG" weld aluminium. To "MIG" weld aluminium you will need a teflon liner for the feed wire or a spoolgun. Also the rollers that feed the wire are different to those for steel. Finally you need to use a pure argon gas. Otherwise the setup is the same. Hope that helps.
