Hi there, I bought your Gussy Cat Kangaroo mince today. Thought I could mix it in with wet kitten food for my 7 week old Ragdolls. But it looks like it's not suitable for kittens? At what age can I use it to supplement their diet please?

Fussy Cat

Hi Elmarie, Thanks so much for supporting Fussy Cat! Our Fussy Cat raw foods are designed to meet the nutritional needs of adult cats, so are not quite suitable to form the sole diet for growing kittens. They can be included in your kittens diet in small amounts occasionally, as long as the majority of your kittens diet is based on a "Growth" or "Kitten "formulated food (like wet or dry food). One your cat is 12 months of age, our Fussy Cat raw foods can be fed as the sole diet, or make up a bigger part of their diet. We hope this information helps and if you have any further questions please don’t hesitate to reach out to us on 1800 732 573. The Fussy Cat Team

Dear Gracie, Thank you for taking the time to contact us at Fussy Cat, and for your questions around ensuring safe storage of our chilled mince products. Products can be stored unopened in the fridge according to the best before date. Once the product has been opened, we suggest consuming within 3 days.

We hope this helps.

With kindest regards, Belinda. Senior Veterinary Nurse. Fussy Cat.

Hi Katrina, Our Fussy Cat Prime Steak Mince 5 x 90g products are only available in a 5 pack at this stage. If you are after a larger pack size, we would recommend our Finest Mince with Beef or Kangaroo fresh meat which is available in an 800g tray and may be better suited. Hope this helps! - The Fussy Cat team

Hello We're big fans of you're raw mince particular (well nearly only the liver flavour) and I haven't been able to find it in the shops for nearly a month. Can see you have a new flavour with Salmon and have done some changing of the packaging. Please tell me you're still making the liver one. Kind regards

Kathleen Larsen

I live in regional Queensland, we don't have the options you do, all I buy is the 'meat' cat mince. It is a bit runny, but the cats like it and that's all that matters.

Hi Aimee, Thanks for supporting our Fussy Cat brand! We’re still making our Fussy Cat Finest Mince with Lamb & Liver product which is continues to be sold through the majority of Coles and Woolworths stores as well as selected independent supermarkets. After our packaging update, the pack colour will now be green rather than red. If you need more help locating this product, you can reach our team on 1800 732 573 (option 1). We hope this information helps!

I've been feeding my 9 month old kitten (ginger tabby) the Prime Steak Mince for about 6-7 months now and he loves it! I fry it up for about a minute in a small fry pan, as a vet suggested, to ensure no salmonella. He won't go near any tinned food now (believe me I've tried, when the supermarket has run out of the Fussy Cat). So far no problems, so it's alarming to see all these bad reviews. Also, it's totally affordable - it's AUD$5.30 for 5 sachets. Isn't that cheaper than tinned food?

Hi so you can cook the raw meat? Just wasn't sure and would like too know this is the only thing my cats eat! And im so worried about it

Anna S

I actually stopped cooking it because I was worried about the fats from the meat affecting his teeth and gums. Have gone back to serving it raw and he still loves it.

Hi Jessica, We don’t recommend cooking our Fussy Cat fresh meat products if they are the only food being fed to your cat. Heat can easily destroy the essential vitamins and minerals present in the products.

If you are feeding the Fussy Cat fresh meat products occasionally or in small amounts in addition other foods which are complete and balanced (such as dry food or canned foods), then the Fussy Cat fresh meat product can be cooked before serving.

If you need any more support you can reach us on 1800 732 573 (option 1)

Can I feed this to kittens?

Yehudit

My cat Loves the prime steak mince with chicken & has not vomited which she did last time I tried her on another brand of raw cat meat. She wants more than 1 (90gm) sachet per meal ( she has 2 meals a day), how much should I give her?

She weighs about 6kg.

Also Ive read about worms in roo mince, is that a possibity ?

And what about the preservative 220, I heard it's very dangerous even if u add more thiamine...?

Plus what about taurine? I've read if u give just mince the cat cat won't get enough as it's destroyed when ground & is only in fresh uncut meat....?

Dear Yehudit, please be assured that our roo mince is human grade so you can be confident that their are no worms of infestations in the pet mince. Secondly you should only be feeding your cat fresh mince once a day, and then complimentry feeding with a dry kibble, we recomend Fussy Cat Grain Free. In order to ensure the quality of our product through the supermarket cold chain and into your refrigerator at home we add a small amount of preservative. However, as part of scientific studies undertaken, we clearly known how much we need to add back into the product so that it is present over the shelf life of the product. I hope this answers all of your questions

Raw Meat is best for Cats, but NOT the processed rubbish you find in Supermarkets that is full with Chemicals. You need REAL Meat from your butcher, including diced beef, pork kidneys, chicken hearts, etc. and chickens necks which keep their teeth clean.

Are you sure the smell is not the Kangaroo, this meat has a particular gamey not as compared to beef or lamb?

Thank you for getting back to me.The answer to your question ,my cat has up until the last 6-8 weeks enjoyed your product, but it is a RANCID smell not a gamey smell.I was a farmers daughter and understand how different meat can smell.Cheers.

I read an artical that VIP along with some other raw pet meats have used higher amounts of Sulfer Dioxide.....that the regulated amount....probably that was the smell....but having said that I have had no problems Jude51 external link

How much sulphur dioxide do you put in your cat and dog food as my vet said not to feed my cat your vip raw food as it is full of the above and this affects their health in a very bad way, also like other comments sometimes your food smells off chemicals to me and my cat wont eat it at those times at all. There is obviously a problem with the food and I wont be buying it any more until you put a breakdown of the ingredients on your packages and it is free of sulphur dioxide or at least at a safe level for animals and humans

As you will notice when you now purchase Fussy Cat fresh mince in the supermarket it is preservative (SO2) free. All our dog rolls are preservative free. Our packaging does contain an ingredients list and Nutritional panel as the law requires?

I have only fed my cats the pouches and not supplemented it with anything else. All they seem to eat now is Friskies Cat biscuits and give the pouch food a wide detour.
