My trident electric pool cleaner is going around the pool but not picking up any leaves and doesnt appear to have any suction underneath although it goea up the sides of the pool ok. Should I be feeling suction underneathwhere the leaves are collected? Pleasegive me ideas of how to resolve as item is only a couple of years old but out of warranty

To answer your specific question: Yes, you should definitely feel a strong suction/pull underneath where the leaves are collected, particularly at the intake port/mouth of the cleaner. That suction is what draws the debris into the filter basket/bag. Thank you for your rapid response. I had noted other comments on the chat with a link to instructions to access the impeller. After taking apart and a thorough clean the machine appears to be running again and collecting the leaves.

My trident hydro robotic cleaner today moves forward for about 5 secs then backwards for 5 secs. It does a few times then stops. It’s less than 2 yrs old? I clean it after each use. Store it dry and look after it well. What can I do please?

Pete, Mine was doing the same thing. I pulled it apart, undoing the screws on each side, removing the cover. Then undid screw on the impeller and removed it. I found a small amount of weed under the impeller. Once that was removed it worked fine. Hopes this helps.

Thanks John, yes I did remove the cover and the impeller was clear. So I put it back together and it seems to be working today. If it happens again I’ll remove the impeller and look further. Hopefully it will continue to work from now on. Much appreciation for your message. Cheers!

My trident has become very sluggish in its movement, most times just goes back and forth very slowly when meets pool sides. Also does not clean centre strip, only sides. How can this be fixed? Ron C

I’ve had my Trident robotic pool cleaner for two years and my cord is always getting tangled up and kinks in the lead, when I store it I do hang up the cord so it is stretched out to try and get the kinks out but as soon as I put it in the pool it gets tangled and doesn’t go up the far end of the pool.
