I have an issue with my WQE6870SA with water dripping from water dispenser. I’ve replaced filter twice and also replaced the double water valve module. Approx 1 drip every 10 seconds.

We had a similar issue. The conduit for the water goes up through the door hinge and eventually out the back of the fridge. Where the door hinge is located, the conduit has a spring over it to protect it. The spring has probably moved, and the conduit has worn a hole in itself. I'd suggest the conduit needs replacing. A job for a technician. Is the fridge under warranty? Have you had much trouble with it. Regards, Greg

Check for leaks first. The filter needs replacing every 6 months. It might need replacing. Check behind fridge and ensure there are no kinks in the water supply hose. If not any of these, call Westinghouse

Hi, I have a 680L WQE6870 fridge and the control panel has stopped working, the lights are flickering and the fridge is slowly losing temp. Is there an internal fuse to check or another cause for this? Thanks for your assistance. Tim

Get onto Westinghouse. It sounds like another lemon. We had similar issues before it was replaced. Seems like this model is one big problem

Thank you - I have sent them a message - pretty sure the compressor is gone along with the control panel!?

Why is the freezer draw light remaining on. This started recently.

Country 1

Hi Sharifa, We had the same problem with our second fridge (the first was replaced under warranty). The technician found ice deposits above the plastic cover in the ice maker, which basically meant the fridge was kaput. We were staring down the barrel of having to get a third fridge but after discussions with Electrolux, we were given a store credit and now are the very proud and pleased owners of a Samsung. Looking at this page and other pages it would seem there are similar recurring problems with this model. Get the technician out and keep getting them out for even very basic issues. With the two fridges, we had problems that included: 'Hi' flashing on the control panel, wildly varying temperatures in the freezer compartment, large blocks of ice coming from the ice maker, a control board being replaced, non-production of ice, and a hose to the water dispenser replaced after a flood in the kitchen. When the second fridge began presenting with issues they lost us as a customer. I was grateful for the opportunity of a store credit because it gave my wife and I the opportunity to get a fridge without problems thus far. Good luck

Have just noticed 'Hi' flashing on the control panel and 'adjusting temperature' showing. We have not had power outage and this has just started, Not happy. Any idea?

Sounds like a power problem, so if not the mains check that the circuit breaker is fully pushed in in the fuse box (if the plug-in type) and that the fridge's power plug is also fully in and not loose in the socket (if so you may need to get the power point replaced).

Sounds like its saying the Temp is High and its adjusting it to lower. I had the same fridge that did this, when you acknowledge it, see what the temp actually is. Mine said Hi and when i touched the panel it would show my freezer was 2 degrees, not -18 what it was set at. I had 2 brand new fridges do this, first within a month of buying it, second (Replacement fridge) about 9 months after getting it. Contact a local Westinghouse repairer to come and have a look, mine was a compressor failure.

Westinghouse technician came and could not find an issue. If it crashes after warranty, they can expect adverse publicity as this is a replacement for one that failed 23 months ago.

We've had our WQE6870 for just over 3 years (just outside of the extended warranty period!!) and our ice maker is not producing much ice and the dispenser is leaking water. The power did go off the other evening and "Hi - adjusting temperature' come on the panel and the fridge was beeping for a while. I then reset the freezer and fridge temperatures on the panel and it stopped displaying the other message.

Any ideas on why this is happening?

Hi Kathryn, Your fridge may have warmed up a bit while the power was off which is probably the only reason for the "adjusting temperature" message. Since writing the review our fridge has started to drip a bit for a minute or so after dispensing water, but the icemaker seems to be working as usual. Not sure if this could be anything to do with the filter, but have ordered some new ones and will let you know if that changes anything.

Thanks for your reply. The power was off for only a couple of minutes. Ours is definitely an issue with the ice maker. I took the water filter out last night and reinstalled, so let me know if replacing the filter fixed your issue.

Would would the intern lining start cracking after 18 months of owning this? Plus not to mention it’s pretty noisy

Sallestra

Hi. Has anyone else had issues with water leaking from the dispenser? Often when we open the door, water leaks all over the floor. Also, can you stop it making ice overnight? It's so noisy

ExpWoodsman
ExpWoodsman

Yep, we're having exactly that problem after 11 months. If we use the water dispenser then open the door, water squirts out of the dispenser. Good thing the warranty is for 24 months. Booked a service technician to come on Monday.

I think you can turn off the ice maker completely. Not sure about just turning it off overnight if that's what you mean.

The service technician changed the water hose that goes from the top and down the door via the hinge. Apparently it had a crack in it. No more leak.

Hi has anyone had issues with items in crisper freezing ? I have set temperature for fridge at 7 and it won’t allow higher . I’ve wasted so much Vegs and fruit . Hope someone can help.

Seeoex

Same problem, so I have lined my crispers with polystyrene as I feel it is because of the freezers being directly underneath the crispers that the items in the crispers are freezing. This has certainly helped as well as turning up the temp to 7, however the polystyrene has reduced the capacity of the crispers.

Same problem .... also on the bottom shelf. I have mine set at 6 ....so there must be a problem with the thermostat. I'm still under warranty thank goodness. Just awaiting time for technician to come out

Is there a condensation issue with this fridge that will cause water to drip off the RHS of the ice maker? We see this and we see water pooling on the shelf below. Is this a known issue and what if anything can we do about it. Thanks email kelly.airwayease.chris7@gmail.com

Previously, when the fridge door is opened the Freezer and Fridge Temperatures appear on the display. I just noticed that this does not happen now. Did we accidently press some button to stop the display from appearing when the door is opened?

The left hand side of our freezer is not working yet the right hand side is. Freezer temp gauge won’t go lower than -9F. We did have a blackout yesterday caused by another cord in the house exposed to water. Have tried turning fridge off for 10 mins pulling out the power cord but nothing. Any suggestions?

Purchased Westinghouse WQE6870 in dark SS in mid November’21. Generally happy with the purchase. However for a day or so now the control panel will not turn off. It occasionally displays “HI” on the freezer display side showing -3 deg and then constantly indicates “Adjusting Temp”. Is this indicating the freezer is not cooling to set temp of -18 deg??
