I too have a Zodiac V3 2WD unit. It worked great for two short summers (I am in Tasmania) cleaning beautifully. Now it wont climb the pool wall. It simply hits the wall and sits there pushing against it. All wheels etc are free and turning. Wondering if this is a common issue and/or an easy fix. It travels around the pool floor fine till it meets a wall.

Hi Rodney, Can't help with that one.Only one side of my wheels move as drive unit is stuffed. So it travels then stops when it hits a wall. Must say I am not happy having forked out 1250.00 dollars on something that has not lasted 3 years.Minimal use for me as I use it about every 3to 4 weeks.

Cheers Paul

Ps quoted 600 to fix

Our v3 2wd seems to find ways to float on the top of the pool surface, usually when it tries to go too high up the wall, this only has happened recently, it seems that it has lost its sense of direction in the pool, can you offer any advice?

Hi, If the behaviour of your V3 has changed then it could indicate you may have some water in the system or the suction on the V3 has decreased. Ensure the unit has a good opportunity to dry out, have a look at suction mechanism and check the impeller area is clear (it may require replacement).

I hope this helps, otherwise you will need to contact Zodiac.

PS: It looks like they have a newer model out on the market, looks nice.

Regards

Peter

Eventually Zodiac got the spare part (a motor assembly?) and fixed it under warranty. But as I said the whole process took about 70 days. I will add that Zodiac refused to return my phone calls with any information about repair progress.
