The AstralPool HaloChlor suite and Halo PH Doser and HALO BT PH sensors in my opinion are not worth the money. I feel they are designed to fail. I… Read more

have had lots of trouble with the software, and they don't seem to support Android users well. There was an option that had auto timezone, and when enabled it offset the time from your location, for mine it was 14 hours difference. On manual time, it drifts. So bad if you wan timers set for your pool to use cheaper electricity. After spending a lot of time with the online service people who only use iOS to verify it worked, they finally said it will be fixed in an update (they removed the feature). Push notifications do not work either, so if you are considering this for the smarts, look elsewhere.

Finally, one of the PH sensor batteries has gone flat after 19 months. That is ok, however the Halo BT is glued shut so the user cannot replace, and only a 12 month warranty. The cheapest retailer has one for $479. There is also the ORP sensor which will have its bettery go soon for a similiar price.

When my pool was installed 4.5 years ago it was fitted with a Astropool Viron V25 salt chlorinator. 14 months after it was installed the chlorinator… Read more

failed and was replaced. 3 years later the second chlorinator also failed and now needs replacing. To go through two chlorinators in 4.5 years at a install cost of just shy of 3k, I am recommending anyone looking at these products to stop and find an alternative. Terrible reliability and dont waste your money.

controlling pump, but of course warranty has finished. Astral washed their hand of it and told Me to seek advice from local pool shop! Apparently it’s a known issue with these chlorinators if you have an astral variable speed pump which is the one the recommended to go with this set up. Been told a replacement will be about $900-$1000. System is only 5 yrs old. The module Is kept out of the sun and is looked after. I payed top $ for this system as I thought it would be the best. I have been advised no to put the pump On a separate external timer instead of plugging it into chlorinator. Very poor show especially when this is a know problem!!

No lights – Ran the pump for about an hour with the cell off. Tried to switch it back on and now there's no lights. The display back light turns on bit only shows ------------------- on the screen. Anyone had this problem?

I’ve had this chlorinator for a little over 2 years and the cell is already dead. Terrible quality, only lasts long enough for the warranty to run out.

Just out of warranty – Pool built by Blue Haven. Finished in Sept 2020. Astral CTX280 now very noisy. Very poor quality when it only lasts until the end of warranty. Was quoted $750.00 for a new one.

Filters OK but housing has a "drain filter" which traps debris in the housing – New product with a large design flaw, the drain point at the bottom of the housing has a "drain filter" with slots so narrow fine gravel e.g.,… Read more

crusher dust which wind blows into the pool and leaves - get stuck in the "drain filter" slots. I have to stick my arm in the dirty water to keep brushing the debris away so the filter housing will drain, then wipe it with a rag, so I can use the small exit. Only other solution is to keep unscrewing the large cap and letting the dirty water gush everywhere rather than the smaller drain hole for controlled release or release using a drain hose. I tried telephoning Austral Pools but they gave me the brush off, told me their product had zero flaws (I wonder did they even test it on a real pool in real Australian conditions) and I should use a skimmer box sock. I am using a skimmer box sock. Nowhere on the website does it say "cannot be used without a skimmer box sock". The person at Austral Pools told me I was not supposed to have debris in my pool like fine gravel and leaves (?? what isn't that why I need a filter ???) and I should have bought a sand filter if I didn't want a "drain filter". This is disgraceful as I had the predecessor of this product (HurIcon ZX 150 cartridge filter) for 17 years with no problem like this. I was not allowed to talk to anyone in management or design at Austral Pools, instead I was told to lodge a warranty claim but if the product was working as designed, I would be charged a call out fee. It is working as designed, the design has a giant FLAW !! Avoid this product, the manufacturer is not willing to listen to even the most basic of design suggestion, they talk over you on the phone, and treat you like rubbish for just suggesting an improvement to their product. BUY A DIFFERENT FILTER BRAND AVOID THIS NEW PRODUCT AND AUSTRAL POOLS. Heaps of choice out there don't sentence yourself to having to keep sticking your arm in the dirty water or a 2" gush of dirty water which is the other alternative. Yuk.

Avoid buying. Product isn't great, and Astral Viron Fluidra's service is even worse – Do Not Purchase. The product: I've owned this pool heater for 4 yrs, and it's had multiple failures (error F04, F18, E051... and more). 2 years ago… Read more

it's flow sensor died and needed replacing (at my cost). Most recently it's completely died (F04) with some mother/driver board failing. Service: Astral Viron Fluidra have advised they cannot help... no warranty support, and no recognition of consumer rights or that a customer paying $7,300 for a heater could expect it last longer than 4yrs.

So far, very good! – We have had this robot for approximately one year. We use it on an in-ground, kidney-shaped pool. The QB800 robot works a treat and picks up debris,… Read more

leaves and dirt very well. The clear lid is great and allows you to see when it requires a clean/empty. It has very good coverage and movement throughout pool floor, walls and waterline and the dual system assists this. At times it can struggle on stairs, but other robot brands do the same. The easy retrieve system is an excellent feature and very, very useful, as is the easy lift and water disperse feature. Excellent value for money and a very well thought out machine. Get it with a caddy and you're all set! Will be interesting to see how long the product lasts, but we are very pleased!

Hopeless. Stopped working after less than 2 years. Cost $1,000 to fix – Steer clear of an Astral Net'n'clean in floor cleaning. Ours stopped working after only 20 months use and we were fobbed off by Astral. The warranty… Read more

is only 1 year, so we are up for $1,000 to get it fixed. We would have never purchased this inferior cleaner if we knew how quickly it would break down. Reading Astral reviews and speaking to our repair man it appears most of their products break down very quickly. So consider choosing a better brand than Astral.

Buy any other cleaner just not this one! – Purchased this cleaner on boxing day sales, brought home and set it to work only for ER10 to come on 3 minutes later. Checked cords, turned it off… Read more

and on, then tried again and it worked. Perfect. Did a great job at cleaning. 2 days later I pulled it out to give the pool another clean. Placed it in the pool, hit start and ER10. Did all the tips and tricks but nope wouldnt go so I packed it away as i was too angry to deal with it. Next day pulled it out again, set it in the pool, made sure everytging was connected properly etc and ER10 still happening. Packed it in the car and back to the shop we go. Told at the shop that they have sent numerous complaints to manufacturer regarding this machine and going by Amazon reviews it does look like its quiet a common occurrence anyway i digress. Leave it at shop for repair only to find out parts from manufacturer are on backorder. 5 weeks later I get the machine back apparently all fixed. All excited I put the machine in the pool for a test run and all seems great. Watched it for 5 minutes or so then left to get a load of washing on the line. Returned 30 minutes later to check on machine and it has stopped working with ER10 code on it again. Back to the shop i go again and this time I want a full refund because this machine is garbage. Clearly not a case of a 1 off lemon when all parts are replaced only for it to happen straight away on the next use. Spend your $2000+ elsewhere because you dont always get what you pay for!!
