I purchased a set of Dynapro At2 xtreme LT 121 tyres (edit: in 2024), got them in a 4 for 3 deal for $1140 but since then have had to buy 2… Read more
replacements as well; on this day currently left with one good one, 1 burst, 2 cut tyres from the last trip I no longer trust (one replacement bought in Esperance in Jan 2026 only had 500km on it before getting deep side wall cuts). One is decent, so basically after 18 months and 5000km I need 4 new tyres before heading off on my next outback trip. So far total bill is $1140 + $440+$440
From the very beginning after fitment I was concerned about the amount of wallow and ballooning they had, certainly didn't seem like strong sidewalls, eg they seemed to squirm around in the city when turning left from an intersection, (my older tyres didn't do that and they weren't even LT tyres, just cheap "AT"s that were more of a highway spec). They also ballooned out at the bottom and looked flat @40psi, the previous older tyres my patrol came with looked normal at 38psi. Something is wrong here for an alleged "LT 121" tyre as sidewalls should be stiffer than that.
Of course there's likely thousands of customers that drive on highways, gravel, dirt or beaches happy with their Hankooks, but I bought these as an upgrade to take on serious rocky trails. I thought Hankook made a decent product and I trusted them.
But so far, 5000km, 4 punctures (mostly sidewall tears that then bust later after a tree root or rock impact.) While on the road the past I've replaced 2 due to sidewall bursts, meaning so far I've bought 6 of these tyres: 2 burst, 2 still on my vehicle with enough sidewall damage for me to never go off road with them in a rocky environment I often travel in again ( like south eastern WA where it's all dunes and rocks or even central WA where it's rocky sometimes too. These tyres get sidewall cuts at 21-26psi, and get regular tread punctures at 35psi.)
Blame terrain, pressures, my driving but I always carried 2 of the original fitted tyres (another brand), no punctures or sidewall damage with them and they are just cheap maxtreks - they always got me home on the same terrain without similar damage. I started driving in 1991 and only had one blow out in my life previously (2001 - old tyre on a beater car driving cross country), and only 3 slow punctures in my life as well - usually screws and teks on the road causing slow leaks. So the fact that I got so much tyre damage in the last 12 month period alone just with this tyre brand and model should ring massive alarm bells Too soft Do not behave like a stiff wall 'LT' at all. Seem worse than a cheap highway tyre model so it was $2000 total spent that was not an upgrade in any way, shape or form, only one good tyre left, currently needing 4 new ones. I can't even email the company with pictures and videos because they don't publish an email address
Great service with attention to detail. Great service with attention to detail.
Good service - arrived on time and date specified. Professional service. One thing which would be an added bonus is to "black" the tyres once fitted so they look all pristine.
Hankook optimo tyres – had mine 3 years in the wet very bad slide also turn corners need be careful the wet wouldnt recommend these tyres but up to u to buy crap
Not recommended – Not worth the price. Had to change two tyres in a year. Not recommended and will not buy hankook tyres again
I purchased these tyres for my Toyota RAV 4 12 months ago. They look good on the car and handling, stopping and cornering in the dry weather is… Read more
excellent. Now the wet weather has arrived I have to say that I’m somewhat disappointed with the handling and stopping when it’s raining. I made a decision to not use my go to tyres either Bridgestone or Michelin and now I’m stuck with these. I know that they are cheaper than other brands but this may be the reason why. My deal was buy 3 get 1 free hence the price $1,150. Would I recommend them … sorry but No from me…
Improved ride quality – These were fitted as standard on my 2013 Kia Sportage Platinum diesel which has 235x55 18 tyres. Over the years I noticed a harder ride compared to… Read more
other cars I have owned and other cars I have traveled in. The Optimos have been slow wearing and in this respect they are good. I replaced two along the way - one with a puncture and the other due to wear. The wheels were twice rotated. Recently at 120,000km I replaced the four on the car, which still had good life in them, with Michelin Latitude Tour HP. What a noticeable improvement in ride quality! The change of tyres has made the car more pleasant to drive.
Long wearing not good in wet – Brought in Jan 20, 4 for 3 deal. Have got over 55K and still plenty of tread left. However, this may be the vehicle (CH Lancer) very dicey in the wet, the smallest amount of water will cause wheel spin and slip out
Only last 9months! – Had these tyres put on my mazda 2 in February 2019 and replaced them November 2019. The last couple of weeks of use I was having to pump them up on a… Read more
daily basis. I'm still unsure why they were deflating so rapidly as there is no visible punctures. The car completed two 1100km trips and two 1400km trips in that time, over a variety of road types/quality.
Tread Carefully – Purchased a new/demo SUV on 29/11/23. I discovered the tread depth was low in mid December at between 3 - 4mm. Considering the car had only travelled… Read more
just over 5000km I contacted Hankook NSW on 19/12. Their initial response was “ that’s not possible for a car that’s not 12 months old with those kms, maybe they swapped the tyres and anyway it’s not our problem, they’re probably US or German tyres, we’re Hankook Australia” After speaking with the car dealer several times I contacted Hankook NSW again 13/2 and again 27/2 but they were unwilling to accept any responsibility for the poor tread wear. Purchased new Pirelli Scorpion Verde all season tyres from Bob Jane T Marts in Adelaide a fortnight ago, nice to know they offer a 4 year warranty. My last set of Pirelli Scorpions were still good at over 50,000 kms when I traded up.
The Vantra LT were well priced and a good choice as the new set of tyres on my Avan 555.
All good – Recently bought these and no issues thus far. Probably the wettest week we have had since last year and a big improvement in handling wet weather conditions. Can't speak to durability as only just bought them.
Great tyres with heritage – Got 2 new hankook tyres fitted in my Mercedes-Benz CLA last week by tyre power. Great tyres with heritage by Korean company. Help lot with the grip… Read more

other truck has Dunlop and Yokohama and will now be changing to Hankook also. I do a lot of driving on the rough country back roads aswell as freeways and inner city and they always perform well.
Rapid wear – Have just changed these for a set of Pirelli at just 16k. Normally get a minimum of 30k from Michelin. Very happy with the Pirelli tyres. They have good rim protection for low profile tyres , as a bonus.
Great tyre, road noise levels very quiet for a low profile tyre. This is the 4th time I've used the Mobile Tyre service and yet again, received excellent service.
Great tyres for the motoring enthusiast that like spirited driving at track day's but also have great grip for everyday driving, especially in the… Read more
wet. Pro's - great grip in all weather and long lasting. Con's - very noisy tyre, but if that doesn't bother you these are a great option for the price you pay compared to other top quality brands.
Good price, easy online booking, the waiting time is a bit long, and the tyre replacement was efficient.
I cannot believe the difference these tyres have made to my Tesla - and the price was excellent.
Cars running beautiful after the wheel balance. Nomore vibration . Technicians did very good job .
